Weekly charges at $611. Plus. 12cpm for maint. And. 06cpm to have a student train with you enabling you to haul team freight. Lots of cheap freight be careful. Haul anything less than $1.50 per mile and you will fail and go under fast. Students fresh out of school...cannot shift. They do not have control of the cmv. Crst holds high paying loads until student is ready to run team freight. But charges keep coming every week.
Trucks run ok with 300-400k miles on them. Gets fuel discount..6¢ off at pilot and petro. You can run solo but will fail because solo freight is cheap and heavy. You will only make enough to pay for weekly charges.Crst sells you a good deal that's calculated at your truck getting 6.5 mpg. That does not factor in idling, over revving the engine by students and dead heading. It is actually 4mpg which = $1 per mile for fuel. Avg d/h miles are between 50 and 100 to pick up a load.. lots of freight where tolls are at too. Can never really get sleep while training students, they require lots of attn... Truck is always moving. If you don't train, you won't make any $$$.

Here is my formula for fuel and milagege breakdown...

    $4 per gallon x 200 gal = $800 devide by 4mpg = $1 per mile. Just for fuel.

    Load break down...
Gross amount - 30% = net amount + fuel surcharge = gross amount that pays to the truck devide by total paid miles = your rate per mile. here's my example....
load is at $1,000 - 30%(for crst) = $700. plus fuel surcharge might be around $500 = $1,200. Then devide by the total paid miles....let's say 900 miles= 1.33 per mile.

youre fuel cost is already at $1 per mile, then you will pay .12cpm for the maint acct. then you will add .06 cpm for the student fee....so, that is already up to $1.18 per mile just to operate....then there is the weekly charges.....then you have to make yourself a paycheck.....

Like i said before.... haul cheap freight and you WILL go under...fast! Say NO to CHEAP FREIGHT!!! and stay above $1.50 per mile
Hope this helps for new o/op or lease/ ops..

And maybe if enough people say no to the cheap freight...the rates will go up

So the CRST scam, I mean lease, is bad news?
And this is news why exactly?
CRST, CR England, etc etc etc are all in it for themselves. For those that get ripped off I feel bad, but 10 minutes of research would have told the tale IMHO.
Anywhere that you HAVE to train to make a living is total junk in my years of experience.

i would not say bad news....maybe a bad start up/set up with the way they have their freight dispatched....as in, you can't get the high $$$$ freight until your student is caught up and ready to run at least 500 miles daily and you can maintain a solid sleep pattern so that YOU can also put in your 500 miles for the day...know what i mean? and do you know how difficult it is to get some sleep with these new students waking you up every hour asking you the simplest questions? like "why is there a stop light on the freeway"? all i say is...does it f***** matter? JUST STOP WHEN IT'S RED AND GO WHEN IT'S GREEN! Then you have to get your sleep in whenever you can and pull a 10 hour shift.....:biggrin_25516:

Not for me bud, not at all. More so in my own truck! Scary...
Like I said though, you have to train then run team to make a living? Bad deal IMHO.
    I feel for ye.

There are several threads on each company describing what's its like & the programs they offer. Just enter each company name in the search box & you will be amazed at the results:biggrin_25525:
