Ive been a company driver at wenger for over a year, I plan on leaving soon because of how they run the company. First off I see a lot of people post that wenger lied to them before they were hired, I wasnt lied too when they hired me because I didnt ask a lot of questions. If you like the family atmosphere Wenger is the place to be; however, they have their favorite drivers and will run them till they screw up then punish them with next to no miles for a while. They DO NOT maintain there equipment. If your a/c quits working on the road they will require it to be repaired at the yard because its cheeper (not a big deal) but sometimes they will do the same thing with dot safety concerns like breaks or airbags. There is only one or two certified mechanics in the shop hence why there equipment is poorly maintained. You are going to be making all the phone calls for directions and aith the brokers the dispatchers wont do their jobs. A window appointment for pick ip or delivery means you must be there at the first time listed or your considered late and will recieve a write up, and after that a suspension then theyll fire you. They require you to get up and work during your 10 hr brk if its convenient for them. If you call safety to complain the saftey manager will always agree with dispatch and wont back you as a driver, you can complain all uou want about the trucks he doesnt care. Also be prepared to change from day to night driving often cause when you work here theyll install an on off switch so if you come off uour ten to pick up or deliver and they dont have a load you can start a new 10atlas and be fresh as a daisy to run the whole next shict. Bottom line they are cheap and consider truckers to be with dime dozen and they dont care about us drivers even though we make them the money.

I know that you are intitled to your opion on Wenger Truck Line. I am a driver there, and they do have issues with the equipment, but they are working hard on fixing those issues....hell they just bought 40 some new trailers and they are in the process of getting 25 trucks....I think 10 to 12 have been delivered. The safety manager at Wenger, does NOT want any driver to run over hours!!!!!!!!!! I've personally heard him tell drivers over and over and over NOT TO RUN ILLEGAL!!!! If you run illegal, that is your choice to do so. I have had issues with my a/c going out, and they have gotten me a hotel room to take my 10 hour break, and got me to the yard to get it fixed. In the trucking industry, if you want to make any money, you have to run your 11 hours of driving out take your 10 and go on. There are sometimes when you have to switch from day driving to night driving....no one can do anything about that! It's the way the freight flows. And Wenger Truck Line has GREAT customers they pull the freight for....JOHN DEERE being top of the list....Hormel Foods, Nestle Purnia Pet Care, Meijer, just to name a few. Wenger is a great company, family based, and DO CARE FOR THEIR DRIVERS!!!

I worked for them a few years ago and they were good to work for except hard to get home where I lived so I moved on but all in all a good small company to work for.
The directions thing drove me nuts at times but if that is all there is to gripe about it's all good.
As far as your friend about getting his W900 hit--accidents happen and sounds like he needs to learn that.

As with any Company wenger has it's good and bad points, as far as ryle being only enterested in the load safty I find that hard to believe as he was my dispacter before he was saftey and if I had a real issue he done all he could to resolve it, the only reason I left was health issues at the time.
As far as Mr. Murray if you had to deal with him it was in your best enterest to have all your ducks in a row, one of the best employers I have had the privlege of working with.
By some I am considderd to be hard to work with I blame this on being for a long line of freighters and truckers, being very picky about the equipment I opporate as well as saftey, I have sceene at wenger things that would have helped, and all to often to many times drivers that were allowed to remain much longer then they should have.
I believe that this is from my beleif that if the company does not make money then I loose my job.
As far as that is conserned I do beleeve that trucks can do better when not restricted on power, and the driver drives a sensable speed, as fuel is one of the biggest exspenses, unfortunately some driver do not know how to maintain a safe speed, or for that matter drive safely.
not having trucks with 13 speeds was a mistake.
keeping up the power band keeps you from burning to much fuel.
the other issue I had was all to often as in the case of trailer 555 when it was new with in 4 weeks a drive had damaged the doors and was not held accountable.
Wenger Trucklines is as I siad bot a good and bad place to work but IT DEPENDS ON YOU!
