interesting...OPINION

So, you are saying that there are no bad companies? I can tell you first hand that people do play payroll games in order to save the company money and propel their careers.
I ask a Dispatcher once , after I had left why he played so many money games with the drivers and he told me that he is graded on low overhead. Which meant having drivers sleep in lounges when they were getting their truck repaired or even shorting on Deadhead and especially layover pay.
My friend you are naive.
but enjoy your bubble
best wishes to all

this is your brain on tweek

No, that wasn't what he said. I've seen what he's referring to with some of my current and former co-workers. Some guys will change jobs and continue the same behavior at the new company that got them fired from the old company. These tend to be the job hoppers.

The IDC bandit strikes again!!!

Well, I am glad to see that others have started posting about IDC because I know that I hate that company with a vegance!!! Something about not getting paid for a month just rubs me wrong!!!

When I started with the company I was rubbed the wrong way to begin with. I was given a driver manager (dispatcher) that had an attitude problem with me from the beginning. I thought that maybe he had a problem with me because I went there after being an O/O and being able to pretty much do what I want, but after talking to other drivers on his board, found out that he was this way with all of his drivers!!

So then I transferred to a different terminal and found a really good DM, but then I moved to Washington and went back to the Tacoma terminal and ended up with a DM that was nice to my face, but as soon as I was gone from the property that attitude changed for the worst!!!

I delt with crappy miles and sitting alot because I had went regional (11 western states), then when I go back to driving OTR, the miles start picking up and I start seeing money!!!

Then all of the sudden they where loosing my paperwork all the time!!! Talk about pissed off, I was!!! Now keep in mind, IDC has it set up so the drivers can scan the loads on there own, just not the log's... So, I kept calling them and they said that I could not be paid for the load's until the paperwork was there even though I had scanned it into the system for them at the truckstop.

This went on for 3 weeks, after week 4 I did not even bother to call them. I walked away from the company in Lebanon, TN and then all of the sudden the following Friday after that..... ALL MY PAPERWORK SHOW'S UP!!!

My advice, stay away from this company unless you want to be starved out just because somebody don't like you!!!

You called it, BigBlue

Blue, I love your description of your probation. You call it a "sentence", and that is exactly what it is. Sounds like trucking is a nice, safe, secure job one can bank on for a few decades. Yeah, right.

I'm glad I got out, ladies and gents. I'm glad I got out. 'Nuff said.

Well, some of us wish that we could get out, but we are pretty much stuck where we are because of lack o' funds to train for something that is better....

I am supprised that you did not go to the terminal and shove a copy of your paperwork up their ***. It is good to know how they treat some drivers I am supprised that they keep people in the trucks. Or maybey that is why they have so many trucks at the terminal in Henderson Co. and a huge sign on one of their trailers that they are hiring drivers it has been up all for atleast 5 months now maybe longer.

You guys who want to get out are not trying hard enough

For you guys who really want to get out of trucking, go to your labor board or employment office and see what kind of grant you can get for retraining.

A few months ago, I was actually thinking of getting my CDL back. When I got out of driving, I dumped it, understand. I went to a community college and the counselor there told me all about grants and funding I could get to help pay for the course I'd have to take.

I then thought about getting the license back for a little while, but decided against it. The nightmares I went through in trucking were/are still too fresh in my mind. However, I could have gotten my CDL back for very little or even nothing if I would have gone that route.

If you think that the small yard there in henderson has a lot of empty trucks, go look around the Tacoma, WA yard... and that is there main terminal. Then go and take a look at there Lebanon, TN yard as well as the one in Lathrop, CA. If I had to gues from what I have seen and heard, they have about 25 to 30% of there fleet without drivers.... Interesting concept huh?

If you call that a small yard it looks like about 100 or more trucks sitting there I did not count them just seen them as I went past to go to school.

I have not seen the really big yards but I guess some yards can hold alot more trucks than the henderson one.
I found that yard by mistake it is were an old truck driving school was.

I was going to Sage on 97th ave and dallas but came in on the back road less dangerous to cross 104th than on 96th ave
