A time to be mad!

I hear these drivers on here, calling other drivers cry babies or you ##### more than my wife.Well the one's of us that do have a #####.We are so sorry we can't be all high and mighty.God gave each and everyone of us a different personality and a way to handle things. And if I was a betting man,I would say,you have done the whiny dance too.It just makes you more of a man to come down on those who you think doesn't have a legitimate gripe.

Instead of calling your fellow driver a name that should be used in porno's,think for a moment and realize he has allot on his shoulder and may not be able to handle it the way you do.I know being out on the road months or weeks on end causes allot of frustrations.Something that I could go without, but we all must deal with it,and the best way to deal with it is to talk about it.

Instead of hammering on a man for feeling discouraged and lost. You need to pick him up and talk to him.I have been in this industry all my life.I am a 3rd generation driver,so I know how the industry has changed and I know I am still a baby when it come to knowing everything, because I will be the first to tell you,I still don't know ####.

When a company does one wrong and we hear about it,just think about it like this, there are plenty more out there who are working for the same company that has had something similar or altogether differently happen to them, but it did happen. These men are here to tell a story of what happened to them to help you,not to be ridiculed or called names. He looks to the professionals ,the one's who might know the answer to what is bothering him.I guarantee you,he is not here to listen to you calling him all kinds of kiddie names. If you were a professional, would it make more sense to help him, rather than cal him a cry baby. This is so immature, and we are supposed to be proffessionals. There are alot less proffessionals out there than I thought and more egostiscal ### wholes, who know everything.

I commend the driver who sticks with a company, when times are hard.Who has nothing but good for the company, then there are the one's that try and do the same thing and just by chance, someone doesn't like him as much as the other guy.So he get's the #### end of the stick and he has every God given right to get on here and tell his story. And to do it without some loud mouth know it all calling him names.

I am so angry at how the trucking industry has become. It has become a minimum wage

I'm not sure where all that came from or who you are pointing fingers at. I reviewed the thread and only seen a couple instances where anyone was called a whiner. Personally, my only problem is with those who refuse to take personal responsibility for their situation, but instead point fingers at everyone else and those who expect everything to be handed to them on a silver platter. Sorry folks.. it just doesn't work like that regardless of where you work, whether in the trucking industry or anywhere else. Occasional handstacking and tailgaiting are all just a part of the job. If you refuse them often enough, its common sense that you will end up being low man on the totem pole and be known to your dispatcher as a slacker. Why would they give the decent runs to those who refuse to take the lousy ones as well? No one here is being high and mighty. Some of us just do our jobs and expect others to do the same. I know that there are situations that are highly frustrating, but a wise man once said that "attitude is only 10 percent what happens to you, and 90% how you react to it". If there is a problem then deal with it before it gets to the point of frustration. I think thats all part of being a grown up.

Nope. I took that signon name to mean more as "call of the road". It still calls to me at times, now that I'm off the road.

Nothing egotistical here. Just that 90% of the whiners out there, are not telling you the whole story. Like maybe how they deal with other people. Not saying there are not things to be upset about out there, but when I hear someone trashing a good Company, they usually are not telling the full story. You can take that to the bank.

by the way thank you newbie that was what i was trying to say but was not as diplomatic as you were. it took me four times of rewriting the post so it would not get flagged for language. you know use prior marines speak and then deal with the consequences, LOL
Yes gunghogal i had that look on my face as i was writing that you hated in trucking school , LOL

Please everyone be safe and remember that there are some of us drivers out here that are new and this is our first winter driving so if we are a little slow in bad conditions it is for our safety and yours.

We are still up here. One whole row is trailers taken out of service that are to be sold. 45 trailers are loaded and being stored here for a store being built but behind schedule. This is our main heavy haul HQ so many of the heavy haul trailers not currently loaded are stored here and the rest are in transit or waiting for a driver to return from leave. Don't forget the ones that all the trainers use, etc. I can't speak for other yards, but from what I've learned, the Tacoma yard does not have too many trailers just sitting around.

IDC

The trucks that are sitting in the Tacoma yard, are for sale or drivers already assigned to them. The folks going through orientation every week are either waiting for trucks to become available or flying to other yards to get there trucks. Me and another guy drove down to the Troutdale yard to get ours, another guy flew to Denver to get his (and he doesnt even live there) and there were others waiting in Tacoma for trucks to become available. Another night in the motel for them. Thankfuly IDC doesnt double you up with someone else, you get your own room.

When I went through orientation at IDC they told us we would be going out of state to either Fontana or Wilsonville to seat trucks because they had none at the Tacoma term. I told them I would go home 5.1miles from term and they could call me when one out of the Tacoma term was available. To make a long story short, it seems they did have one available at the Tacoma term. In fact they had 4 or 5 available their.

Honesty at most OTR companies seems to be rare until you tell them you are going home.

I just can't let this post go by without a reply.
You are a team with IDC and they made you handstack a Joanns load and you got paid $150.00? Well than you mustn't be a x-team, because anyone that knows IDC knows their prima-donna x teams don't do anything but dp and hk. $150.00 what a load of bunk! If you got paid that I want to know who your FM is cause I want them!
IDC has their problems, and alot of them are drivers who should hand out hip waders with their stories. LOL

Ya know.. that last sentence really ticks me off. I never have, nor never will ever tell a BS "story" here! Grrrrrrr@ you and your insinuations! The Joanns load that I mentioned before was at the Joannes store in Kalispell, MT and was nearly 1300 cartons.. floor stack top to bottom, front to back. It took my husband and I together 5 1/2 hours to do it. It was their largest shipment of the year.. their christmas stuff.. and post inventory. We are dispatched out of Lebanon, TN and if you really think you need to know who our FM is, PM me and I will be sure to tell you if you think my "story" needs verified. We are and x-team but we do a lot more than just drop and hook. IDC does a lot of drop and hook even as a solo which my husband was until I joined him. Just a few weeks later we swapped out a load to help a guy get home.. a Joannes load again. It originally was a 3 stopper and the driver was a solo. He was being paid 150 for the first stop and 10 for each stop there after. We delivered the final in Roseburg, OR and got his final $10 for it. You don't believe my "story"? I have the check stubs to prove it. You want to see them?? YOU obviously don't know your head from a hole in the ground. It takes a lot to make me mad, but being called a liar does it. I am guessing that you are not an IDC driver, because they have class......

For others of you reading this.. I do apologize if I offend anyone by my anger, but.. I doubt any of you would appreciate being called a liar either.
cheers!
