| I have two new teams being put together, myself having driven auto transport from 1999-2002 and three others who are looking to get trained. We have been weighing out different training options either via trucking company or private school. One of the companies we inquired with was Interstate Distributors Co (IDC) out of Tacoma, WA. I have to say that personally I am very disappointed in trying to do business with them. Their follow-up has been very poor. The recruiter we were speaking with told us she could get a team through their training partner school in New Mexico and bring us on board no problem and would give me credit for my previous driving experience. I told them I would either do a refresher course or a whole 160 hour training course. We told Interstate that we were even willing to pay for our school privately if need be, in that we wanted to get on with a company we could stay with and possibly go into a O/O and lease on with. After waiting a few days to here back from her to find out how we can proceed with training and driving for Interstate Distributors Co., we finally got a phone call back with disappointing news with her elaborating that she had tried to pull some strings for us in order for us to get training etc., but mentioned that their recruiting manager did not think by knowing I had driven independent in the past would be someone their company could count on staying with Interstate. How wrong they really are, when the fact is my family members and I only want to jump on board with a company who shows a half bit of integrity and not be those drivers continually jumping ship. she told me that her constituents in recruiting suggested I go drive for another company for about a year to show stability and then come see them. WHAT? That is really sad to say the least. What kind of recruitment respect is that to a potential team of drivers? I asked; is it the training or the idea of paying the team a little more for my past experience the problem here? If so, let’s talk about the options. She suggested I get on with another company and go through that company’s training and then call her back when I was ready to jump ship. I told her that I am not interested in using any company and doing to such a company exactly what Interstate Distributing thought I would do to them. I was appalled by the insinuation and very disappointed with Interstate at this point. The recruiter stated to me that the idea does seem like a catch 22. I guess so! I was also told a week ago I would receive a phone call back from the recruiting manager to see if we had other options to weigh. Nothing as of yet.Right now we are very disappointed in the Interstate Distributors Co. and can not recommend them to anyone. We would like here about others who have had similar experiences. | I did have some problems with them. It was mainly about trailers not being maintained. Guess most large companies they do a lot of drop and hook have this problem. |

| Interstate I have been driving for 11 years. A year and a half ago I worked for interstate for 9 months and without a dought it was the worst company I have ever worked for!! They don't seem to know whats going on half the time. The final straw was when I needed to get home to Caldwell, Id and they got me as far as Salt lake with a load. When I got empty in SLC they said there was no freight and I would have to sit till the next day. I really needed to get home for a family emergency but what are you gonna do. So I got up the next morning and checked in and nothing, so I went and had breakfast. I came back out and had a ld that said it loaded at 1400 that afternoon going home. So I didn't get in any hurry an about 1030 I got a msg from dispatch that said, why are you not picking up that ld. I said didn't seem to be any hurry since it didn't load till 1400 and it was only 1030. He came back and told me it had loaded the day before at 1400!!!!! So I sa all night with no load while that one was sitting there waiting to be picked up! That kind of thing happened all the time. My husband still works for them but not for long. He is getting about 900 miles a week for the last month. They sat him in Sacramento for 4 days and told him they quit paying layover. They also don't pay vacation pay. They just pay a flat $300 dollars before taxes so you don't wind up with much left. He is quiting as soon as he gets home again. |

| I have yet to receive a phone call back from Interstate Distributing. It appears they are not very good communicators. I have noticed several other complaints about Interstate Distributing on the different forums and message boards around the web. I have read a couple of posts stating they were in the middle of selling out the company. I know there is probably no perfect company out there. |

| Yea, Interstate got me too! Not a Good Company...lots of 50 mile runs and Dispatch was Hostel at times. Last edited by DrivingPro; 03.14.2007 at 01.18 PM. |

| Sue them under the Americans with Disabilities act or threaten to, that might get your job back. I used that once due to a ruptured disc. |

| sorry for the late response mack but to answer your question...no the boxes were not on skids. How rediculous...1300 boxes for one driver to unload. Anyway, There were many othere problems with Interstate, even a lot of old timers with the company were telling me they were getting out! Guess no company stays good forever best wishes for all. |

| Hi, I'm sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with "Interstate". I just started with them a month ago. I'll give em some time before I post my thoughts. No one wants to see their company in the bad section. |
