It depends on whats available in your area,at your time of hire.Check the company website, and talk with a recruiter.
I had pretty good options when I started with them.I was dedicated home depot, home most days.Costco ,and Jc penneys
are decent.I would stay faar away from the GOOD YEAR account.I know a few guys that got burned on that account, and hand
unloads of tires.Good Luck, and do lots of question asking to a recruiter, and write it all down.

Still no real details, if he had an accident there must have been some other circumstances as to why they let him go. A lot of companies will tell you at orientation their procedures on accidents and if a driver don't ask these questions at orientation, then he/she is at just as much fault. If she feels he was screwed, then get an attorney involved, if not, then guess who's at fault....the DRIVER. If you don't fight to keep your cdl clean, then it's no one's fault but your own.

It doesn't matter what terminal you work out of at Schneider, everything is controlled from Green Bay.
There are some people there in operations that know what their doing, but for the most part their experience in the operation isn't good for drivers.
Unless you have relatives who worked and knew Don Schneider, that might be a plus.
If you ask too many questions, that will go against you in making revenue.
If your DBL sets loads up for you, Green Bay will change that, and send you a message telling you that load was canceled only to give it to some other driver.
I had arrived at a shipper only to find another driver was sent there earlier then I and took my load that was assigned to me. ( he was part of the "good ole boy" clan)
My DBL and my terminal looked out for me when it came to making revenue.
But Green Bay would "overrule" on assignments, then I ended up with a run with less miles then the first one.
They would send me a message to call, and then tell me that "they want to relay my load with another driver to get home for his "home time".
They never had another load ready for me, and I would have to wait for them to find me one.
Nights and weekends has part timers who work in Green Bay for the extra income, and know nothing about trucking, or care about your revenue your their to make.
You'd spend over 2 hours on hold waiting for someone to pickup your call, and would have to call back and wait some more if they needed you to call back to resolve the situation.
If you go over the weekly mileage amount they figure, they cut your miles the next week.
I met drivers who exceed the weekly mileage on a regular basis, it really depends who will look out for you.
Schneider has owner operators, and they get the high paying loads over you.
They also damage trailers and don't report repairs needed, and you end up getting repairs done in order to move the freight on the loaded trailer you just picked up, you loose more time with the repairs.
That was my reason for leaving Schneider and going to work some place else.

I was curious to hear about your experience. Thanks for responding.

Much of what you described also happened to me during my 4 1/2 years there, ending this past January 31st, and contributed to my own departure. I think a few of your statements are far-fetched (I didn't say they were lies...just a little stretched), but overall many of your individual gripes have some or a lot of validity to them.

I had the same DBL for the entire time I was there, and I know there were times when she would give me a load, adding something to the tune of "I'll probably get yelled at for this". But even with the same DBL that whole time, staying out from 21 to 30 days at a time, I had a total of fewer than five weeks of over 3k miles. Fewer than five in all that time.

When I left, yes...the phone times were excessive. I actually went way over my normal usage on my cell phone the last few months at SNI, though I think the new Workflow program was a big part of that.

But again...thanks for expanding on your thoughts. And good luck in your new venture.

Yes they do all that. It's like the support shift told me while I was in Iowa that I needed a relay because I wouldn't make it to a 1:00 appointment in wheeling Illinois from the middle of Iowa but support shift succeeded to tell me with 340 miles I could drive that in 5 hours I was like yeah I'd like to see that. Especially with the govern on the truck. There all about putting money in there pocket that's no doubt. I pulled in to the obetz terminal wanted to get a steer tire looked at the guy said nothing was wrong with it cause there was no cords showing I didn't agree with him well I ended up bob tailing home from Seville ohio and my steer tire blew out the next day. Then had to sit for 3 hours for him to get there and repair it. And the first thing they asked in sem was is the truck ok? I said #### no it's not. Ha not really. But it's just a ######## company. I think it all depends on your dbl too

Say hello to Tom in Bedford from Jon and Kathy in Henderson, NC. He runs the terminal there and is a pretty good guy for a bald guy

BTW: Make sure you talk to him in person and not a recruiter. I would drive over there and have a short sit down with him. That's what I did here in Henderson before I started the WalMart Dedicated out of here. Took about 10 min and he answered all of my questions and everything he said was pretty much spot on.
