I won't sit here and bash the OP either. I'm just sick and tired of hearing about CRE and their unscrupulous business practices. IMHO, there's a special place in hell for the whole #### heirarchy of this company.

"There are no company positions available right now." What complete and utter BS.

OP...good luck to you and your family.

Oh yeah, we know we will be getting a bill for the schooling. That was made very clear from the beginning. He had fully intended on following through until they talked him into a lease and then he ended up in the hole not even 1 week later. Had they even offered to bring him another truck or pay for the motel room - he would have stuck it out. We both know there are unexpected things that come up - we just didn't expect that it would be so one sided. They were not willing to help out or budge a bit! Now - I might be able to accept that had he been in this truck for 6 months or a year - but to be broke down one week after picking the truck up and leaving everything up to him and taking his second seat is completely unacceptable! I can not believe what this company gets away with!

    Thank you 48Packard.

We had been watching the company job postings via their website . . . and we noticed that the jobs he had applied for and was told had been filled are STILL posted as open positions. I believe they do this on purpose - just another way to get the guys in a leased truck. I'm betting those positions are not "real" positions and are always listed on their website since it is open to the public.

In the car business, it's called the ol' "Bait and Switch".

So this must be how they lure drivers in to lease by telling them no company driving position open.Just another lie on their website and I belive their trl, looking for company drivers and leasing.I heard yrs ago before coming to any forum how bad england is and in detail and this was from a recruiter of all ppl, lol.I suppose england didnt let husband pick out his own trk did they?Hope husband does'nt go for anymore scams no matter what his next company will be.We all make mistakes, some worse then others, but the main thing is we learn from them.I do think that was very wrong of england not to pay for trk getting fixed.Which explains no warranty.Sure he's not the only driver either.

Yeah, it was a used truck. He was told there was a 30 day warranty on the truck, but then once the truck was in the shop and needed 4 new batteries - well that wasn't covered under the 30 day warranty. There is almost always some sort of loop hole that can be jumped through with any warranty - this is just another one of those.

He is in his mid forties - a very HARD worker - and it is not in his nature to complain about things . . . but this experience has really put a bad taste in his mouth for driving truck - and while he did the time and got his CDL - he's ready to bag it all and look for something else to do.

The real topper in all of this is he had spent over $1,000 outfitting this truck - chains - microwave - coffee maker - fridge - CB - GPS system - bedding - the works. It's just been a bum deal all around . . . and from ALL of this - we are going to end up owing them thousands.

They should have paid for new batteries, how did he know he leased a lemon.Cn tell england dont go over or fix any of their trks before leasing them to poor unsuspecting drivers. So what did husband do with the trk before renting a car?

he left the truck at the shop . . . thank God he did not have a load, because he knows that is a big no no! He told CR England he was going to leave - and the only thing they said to him was "that is your choice." They simply do not care. I'm sure they've picked up the truck by now and it's sitting in their leasing yard waiting for the next victim.

Try not to let him get down. There are untold numbers of stories that are similar to his. And if he leaves the industry now, that means that CRE claims another victim. It's a tough enough job to adjust to without having this stuff hanging over your head. I also started at CRE, but that was years before their leasing program got underway. I had a decent trainer, but really no support help after I went solo.

Hang in there, and again....good luck!

One more question, what shop? They could get him for abandonment if its say a shop at a truckstop.Of course they don't care if he quit, they're use to it.Just imagine how many quit weekly due to similar issues.Besides england is making a nice profit, they don't care who quits.Every company is like that.I've learn to get use to it.
