Gold Spur Trucking has a huge driver turnover ratio for many reasons:
1) They treat their drivers like crap.
2) The equipment is crap. Most trucks don't even have AC.
3) The benefits are crap.
4) They are known for shorting you on your pay.
5) They fire drivers for no good reasons.
6) The management are a bunch of ########!
Stay away from Gold Spur Trucking!!!

Just came across your comment. I worked for gold spur for 6 months. I have to say I got treated pretty good while there. They lost a bunch of contracts on wells and I had to finally leave because of lack of work, I went to Power Fuels. I will agree with you, the equipment is junk, but my pay was always right. If I were to go back to ND to work in the spring I would consider working for them again if they got some decent trucks.

Gold Spur is a training ground and stepping stone. Pour equipment pour management and disconnected owners that truely said drivers are dispensable. If you are new to trucking or hauling crude and need experience this is the place just be prepared to put up with alot of #### and threats on a daily basis. When you hit six months of crude hauling experience bail and go some place better. Most people leave at sixe months I did, and I know alot of drivers I worked with since I left that stayed for 12 to 15 months and wish they had left sooner.
Don't get me wrong I am not saying do not work for them! When you need experience you have to put up with crap. Also I have learned all companies in the Oil Business have good and bad so for me I would only make a move that is forward in pay, benefits and or equipment!pathfinder1361 and vmaggs Thank this. -
This post is most certainly old. Just an update for those of you coming across this, Gold Spur now has all 2012 or newer Brenner and Polar crude trailers. In North Dakota they have new Dragon crude trailers. As of May 1, 2013 they have already purchased and placed in service 15 2013 Pete 388's and have at least 20 more 2014 388 Pete's due to deliver by July 1st. All of those 2007 379 Pete's will be cycled out shortly. The pay and benefits have changed significantly since 2011. GS offers medical, vision, and dental now along with 401k and paid time off coming shortly. Several changes have been made in the company structure and pay that has benefitted drivers. Go to Gold Spur!!

I'm not sure what you got fired for but I'm sure that it was justified since you've come online to vent your frustrations. GS has passed dozens of roadside inspections before you worked here and dozens since you've left.

Bunch of great drivers at Gold Spur, you have to work for it, but you'd have a hard time finding more money driving a truck. Mix of old trucks and new trucks but most drivers keep them clean. Management changed recently and drivers seem more happy. Easy to make over $300 a day, a bunch of the cry babies who like to milk the clock are gone, only guys that get it done are there now. Good benefits, good PTO, can't complain! Maybe put a new driver seat in my truck, lol.
Almost forgot...they are hiring a ton of new drivers right now for some new contracts, hit them up, I think you can apply online now.Last edited: Apr 11, 2014

"Paid time off coming shortly"?
You expect us to believe that it's some sort of great thing that someone decided to add something that they should have always had?Western flyer Thanks this. -

It's working for me.
Anyhow, it leads to a page showing an inspection and citation history. Apparently, Gold Spur has issues with allowing people to drive without a medical certification. The page shows 6 violations, and a link on the page shows 2 serious violations for failing to investigate a driver's background, found during an investigation on 9-18-2013 -
Hmm, alright. Med card, got it. Mine's in my pocket.
