knight transportation
where ever you are there is never any freight going to your home town. me, dallas texas. time for home time and if on the east coast, no loads going west. if on the west coast, no loads going east. if in the great lakes region, no loads going south. if im 200 miles from home the only loads available are going the other way. the dispatchers in dallas expect us to believe this bs. talked with other drivers with knight who all say the same thing regardless of where their home is. dont want to abandon their truck on the side of the road but im close to it. if i ever get home i will never come back. i requested home time for may 17 and not there yet. today is june 23. if there is no freight ever going to texas why do they have 2 terminals in texas?

man do anything to get to a terminal close to home but do not abandon the truck. it will follow you throughout your driving career. i lasted 3 weeks with knight and got a load going within 200 miles of my home terminal and i made a beeline for it and cleaned my truck out. they still accused me of 2 preventable accidents that happened after i quit. i got those removed from my dac and all is good now.

I've worked with Knight for 8 months now and had this problem only once while in Oregon. I'm usually home every 2 weeks. I'm sorry you have this problem, but it's not like that at every terminal. Maybe ask for another DM or talk to your Terminal Mgr about it. But don't abandon the truck anywhere. That will screw up your chances of working elsewhere.

That explains why you don't usually have that problem. Everyone else is turning down the loads that get you home because they are going in the wrong direction for them. Florida and Minnesota drivers seem to not have problems getting home either for the same reason. Oregon always was very hit or miss for Knight. When it was good it was good. When it was bad it was intolerable.

Hostage, time to b a xxxxxxx. Put your foot down. I am also out of Dallas. Once you establish that u will not eat their xxxxxx, there won't be these problems. Gotta stand up to knight or they will end your over further and push deeper. Good luck and don't be scared to be a xxxxxxxxxx with the knight. Where are u stuck now with no load home?( I got pessed one time and drove all the way home over the weekend., they begged me not to quit and haven't had trouble since, maybe a little but I let em know when I ain't happy)(not saying to become a whiner but don't take xxxxxxxx either, f em I they don't like it, xxxxxxxx Otr jobs are a dime a dozen anyway.

Requested May 17 and you're not home by June 23? Fire your dispatcher! I'm serious. That is inexcusable.

dispatchers, "fleet managers" will take any inch you give them...draw your proverbial
"line in the sand" and hold your ground...remember you have the advantage here...you have the class a cdl...that is your hole card...more jobs available than drivers to fill them...by the way hope you made it home....Last edited by teflondave; 06.27.2012 at 04.23 PM. Reason:: spelling correction

Put your foot down? That is hysterical! You really think Knights going to listen to a driver that puts his foot down? No they'll NEVER get you home again if your foolish enough to actually go back out after home time. They know this, thats why they will never get you home.
Just get that truck back to Hutchins and be done with it.
