Hey guys, I just feel that I might want to give some suggestions for the people starting out getting into trucking. I would not recommend at all take the company sponsor route (even to my enemies) the company sponsor route is beneficial only in the case your getting your CDL but it's NOT for free. With company sponsor schools You'll start by signing a 1 year agreement with them basically saying that you will work for 1 year with them in exchange to pay for your tuition in full. If by any chance you happen to quit or get discharge during that 1 year your in progress on working for them. You will be billed the prorated charges of your 1 year agreement with them. I signed up with FFE through there company sponsor school & I think god each & everyday I didn't finish they school at all. I don't know about other company sponsor schools but FFE makes you sign a lease purchase program also ( for all that is trying to get there license through the company) also I am going to tell you guys this. Those company sponsor schools you'll get your CDL (if you keep up with the class) in about 19-21 days. For a person thats NOT driving a tractor trailer for the 1st time throughout your 1st 4 days there & if you don't pass the state test you will not be driving & will most likely be going on your way home like a fellow classmate did. I don't think 19-21 days is not enough time for the average person to catch on. Also when doing company sponsor schools for students trying to get there CDL.A class would start every monday. Now just keep in mind you arrive there to class on a monday. On a wednesday you gotta take a "out of state" CDL permit test in the state your applying for the CDL in. My boy told me CRE they arrive there on monday & take they state test the next day (tuesday) Instead of going to company sponsor schools & signing your life away.

Go to your nearest unemployment building & see if you can qualify for the state WIA grants. If you work part time or your low income (which I believe the state would consider 1st) then you can qualify for these grants long as your not working full time. I'm sure it's a several small amount of people probably made it through with the company sponsor program but I'm sure a good amount of them wish they wouldve takin a different approach on getting there license. Also if the school feel your not catching up fast enough with the class instead of dropping you off to the class that is a week behind. They will buy your greyhound trip ticket back to your home. Don't believe me look how fast within the 1st week of the class people drop like flies & the company just paying for there ticket to there way back home. Also, for the guys starting out like me keep yourself in shape & (from my doctors words) don't eat much of anything with sugar in it cause if you do it will raise your A1C also exercise your body that helps a lot. I just got my blood work back for my A1C because my doctor detected a lot of sugar in my urine.

This is just to show the A1C standard levels & the 5.3 is mines so my doctor told me I'm fully clear he sign off on my forms. My doctor told me before I left long as your A1C is not 6.3 & up you don't have to worry about it.
