AMEN!
Minimum wage in AZ (I dont know where OP is) = 7.65 per hour X 70 hours = 535 with no time and a half which is illegal in EVERY business EXCEPT ONE (guess which industry can have employees work more than 40 hours without paying time and a half).
Add time and a half to the 7.65 after 40 hours = 650 per week home every nite working the same hours as driving that truck...
Or put another way, JB is paying the equivalent if you factor in time and a half of $8.50 an hour to work for them and when you get off work you are not home...
Ironic that minimum wage in some cities in California is $10.00 per hour. I wonder if JB is exempt from min wage like they are the time and a half requirement? A kid flipping burgers for minimum wage in California makes $850 for 70 hours a week.....
Yep, too good to be true.

When I drove OTR 2100 miles in a week would of had me going postal on my Dp'r. I mean that is like 3 days work in a OTR truck. And if a recruiter is using that low number the OP's reality sounds about right. Now if a JBH recruiter said 2800 per week then you would see the 2100.
It's like the pay range If they say $35K to $55k 75% will be getting around $35K and 1% $55K and the rest somewhere in between. -
Truck3R Mike i was in intermodel at JBH i was not happy at all with the crapp that they do, like not pay u all your money, they did not fix a air leak on my truck.

I worked for JB Hunt for a year. They lie and treat the driver like dirt. Worst company I ever worked for. I guess they still have that really high turnover rate. A high turnover rate is good indication that the drivers are not happy. I would warn anybody about JB HUNT for the rest of my life . I probably will drive another 20 years, so I have plenty of time to warn my fellow drivers. JB has a bad reputation for a reason. Look at all the people that used to work there. Talk to them.

Haters never tell the other side of the story, there are many drivers on here that will disagree with your words.. I for one am one of them. There is more to your story and you wont tell it. you believe what you want and the people who know the full story will believe that. sorry for your bad luck with them.

intermodal is not bad, but every terminal has a few brown noser's........that hover around the dispatcher's.

I drove Chicago intermodal for JB Hunt for 3 1/2 years and made 50k a year, drove great equipment and had good benefits. I never heard much good from any OTR drivers. I was also home every week for 48 hours. I guess your opinion of JB depends on the fleet and the terminal. JB Hunt uses a recruiting service. The recruiter gets paid when the driver shows up for orientation. You should also know that JB does not do pre hire screening so in essence the recruiter is selling you a job.

If it was so great, why did you leave?
