I was contacted by a JB recruiter and offered a Regional position that was to good to be true. The proposal was 5 days a week, 2100 miles, $770/week and home 36 hours/week. I waited a week to get assighned a truck, when I arrived to pick up my truck it was dirty, the windshield cracked it and the dash read 550,000 miles. I tracked someone down in the shop and told them the windshield needed to be repaired before I got on the road. The guy informed me an outside vender would be called to repair it and that I would be contacted in a -couple days-when the truck was ready for the road. I drove the hour home and never heard from them. I called 2 days later and the truck was ready. I never had a 2100 mile week, I actually averaged 1600 miles a week. They had no problem getting me home every weekend but my bills were not getting paid.

If it sounds to good to be true, ask for a contract of employment. They'd laugh, and you walk away.

How does 770.00 a week qualify as being to good to be true ?

The problem being to people used to making $300 to $400 per wk gross $ 770 per wk sounds like they hit the motherlode. As long as these large carriers have fresh meat to use up the mediocre wages and abuse of newer drivers will continue.
Your first mistake was believing a recruiter, they are ALL related to Adam&Eves snake, your second mistake was ...well you know..JB

I'm glad someone else fell for this. I was guaranteed home every weekend and a Regional SE. I was in OK, TX, OH...I didn't think that the southeast ran that far out but guess I was wrong. When I said something I was told they never said that I was going to be home every weekend and only run southeast. They are a dirtbag company. When I quit they told me they were going to blackball me. 2 years later they called me up out of the blue and offered me a dedicated job. Said the guy that worked there who "blackballed" me was no longer with the company, big surprise and to not worry about that. Needless to say I did not take the bait.

I was actually hired on for .41/mile and the money I made was not bad. Just can not stand a company that would lie to me.

Sorry to hear about your bad experience. But there are thousands of very happy drivers at JBH. They work in Intermodal and DCS. LoL.
