Stay away from CRST Here's what you can expect at CRST.
a lousy trainer when you start with the company
Sitting at truckstops for hours waiting for next load
dispatch that does not care about their drivers, especially the evening and weekend dispatchers
a crappy truck, mine had many types of electrical problems
about 1/2 or more of the trailers you hook up to have maintenance issues
having to file for bankruptcy after working there because you were not making enough to live on

Never been at CRST, but do you think its because you're NEW? Sure your gonna get crap because you have to PROVE YOURSELF WORTHY OF BETTER. Not steamed one bit, but you need to understand. Because you are new they are going to give driver's that they KNOW can do the job the good stuff. Filing for bank- Let me stop here, if you have to file for THAT, your better off getting a lawsuit.

Truck driving is a commodity, either a company has enough freight to keep it's trucks moving or it doesn't. Dispatchers and load planners don't have time at large companies to play favorites they match the closest empty truck to each load. If drivers are sitting, it's a lack of freight at the company, nothing else, either you are good enough to move their freight or you get fired simple as that.

You should request a different dispatcher...CRST experiences seem to vary from yours to good. Also, put up with your trainer 28 days then you move on...I agree they have crap for trainers but you have to find the right dispatch and partner.

Never said I wasn't doing well. BUT,trucking is , and always will be, full of problems. Nature of the beast.
A lot of trainers [ all companies ] are lousy. Learning a new skill is frustrating in any job..
At some time, everybody sits at a truckstop, waiting, waiting, waiting , on a load. Don't say you have never waited .
Dispatchers will always be hard to work with at times.
Trucks are mechanical, and will have problems. They will break down.
New drivers will not be highly paid.
That is true for all trucking companies. Was that way 30 years ago, and will never change. No matter the company.

The trick is: Put your time in with one of the large outfits and get crapped on, then move on to one of the better large outfits with a good reputation and get crapped on. Then find a small outfit with a good reputation and work there. Talk to guys that work there before you jump ship, and don't be a
to the outfits you're leaving. You never know when you might need a reference or to go back. Last edited by starvintrucker; 08.18.2012 at 04.22 AM. Reason:: autospell mess up

[QUOTE]Agreed but alot of the failed drivers have to adjust the attitude. Sooo many people get dissapointed because its not what they expected and at the same time think they deserved being catered to. Ok lets simplify this...if I didnt check my attitude with in my first year I WOULD HAVE NEVER MADE IT. Now days is lawsuit for this lawsuit for that if people are broke in the truck how u paying for a lawyer? wheres ur case? ATTITUDE ADJUSTMENT.
