Bluechevy are you still working at Wylie or have you moved on. I have a chance to go with them and I want to ask some questions to a driver for them.

jpt5617 I would stay as far away from e.w. wylie as possible i hope u have not fallen pray to there lies. I leased on with them back in march 0f 2010. Against what everybody told me about lease programes. I figured I was a hard worker and I could make it work. Boy I was worng. The company I worked for went under (C. Bean) overnite and E.W. Wylie was the first company to call. Having a famliy I was despret to get back to work. I live 30miles north of houston. I got home between 3 to 4 weeks. And was only able to take off a couple of days. Cause I need to make the truck note. Needles to say they shorted me on my miles. told me it was from zip code to zip code not actual miles. I would sometimes be shorted 200 miles at 1.28mile you do the math. In four months I dumped about $5000.00 dallors into the truck in repairs. My last three pay checks added up to less then 1000.00 dollars. I thought I was consedered a professinal driver. Yet a 16 year old working at Mcdonald's can make more than me. It doesn't matter how hard you work if they don't give you miles you can't make a living. I never turned down a load and never had a costumer complaint. I did everything I was asked. I turned in the truck back at the termnail I got it from cleaner then i received it. A week later I asked where my last check was they said they are keeping it cause they had to do 2500.00 worth of repairs to make the truck road worthy again. Including charging me for equipment I turned in. Today I got a call from a laywer saying they are sueing me for the remainder of whats owed over 1600.00. To anyone thinking about this company please for your famliy and yourself DON'T. And if ther is anyone that could maybe give me some advice on this situation me and my famliy would greatly appreciate it.:biggrin_25521:

No I did not go with them, I ended up working for Hunt out of Omaha and glad I did because they pay practical miles and are keeping me busy.

well as yall know i did go with ew and the only real problem i have had is home time. i want to get thru the house more then once a month and if you get time off every 2 weeks it starts to hurt the bank account. they are up dating the tarping pay from 30 to 50 dollars and yes they do run pcmiler shortest route when we get paid but my TM and DM have been working hard to get me the miles i am looking for.
i got out of my 06 mack and jumped in a 2011 with 34 miles on it. not sure i am truly happy with the truck due to lack of storage.
i lost 2 feet on both sides . i have one 3 foot box and a step box on driver side and a 4 foot box on passenger side. i had tow 5 foot boxes with step boxes on both sides on the old truck.
it is getting a lil better mpg. but with only 385 hp and 373 rears. its still slow going thru the step roads.
any and every issue i have had my TM has taken care of it. she is i think the best TM in the company because she will stick up for her drivers.

i know all companys have problems but thru my TM all of mine have been fixed.
any one wants true stats just as ill tell ya what i have been up to.

i dont think leasing with them is a good idea unless you have very lil overhead. ie no appartment and such to pay for. or if you dont ever go home....

ill get back to ya when i get home...

i flirted with the lease thing. i hired as a company driver and looked at the lease but when i added up the cost i knew i would not be able to keep my apt in tx. i said no ill stick with company.
now all of the issues i have had have been fixed with my TM working her but off. but as a driver i know i will stay out when i want to be home . ( i love my home time and life. and its hard to get back in the truck after being home. takes a couple hours before i call my ole lady. its hard on her also.) but we both know i am the only one working and this is how it is.

as of now i am just staying out of the poor house. but thats because i had to take so much time off in july for my womans surgery. now i had a bad dispatcher who would like to short load me on quick runs and then have me sit all day to dead head 5 + hours for another shot trip and made it seem like i had no choice but make those runs. but they are gone and now the runs are getting better and better.
now as for me i am realistic in what i expect from my company. always tell them if i need to sit try and get me home but that is not happening yet.
no i dont think this is heaven but from what i have dealt with its better then most.
as for real stats i will compile what my pay checks say and post them if thats what
i can do to show others its not oz but its not hell either.

worked for them for 8 months and would still be there had they
had better miles. i think you are one of them if it aint all pretty with roses then you aint happy. and as for the truck bodys yea if you give attuide to the guys there they wont lend you a finger except the middle one as they go work on something else. they haul alot of those bodys all over.
my only real beef is miles and hometime. if you dont ask they wont send you anywhere near your house. i asked every week to send me thru so i could stop for a 10 hr or do my 34 at home. and they would say are you requesting time off . no im just wanting to drive thru there . if i can drive thru there every other week i would not mind running a full month and then take my home time. the will send you home every 2 weeks but you better open your mouth and ask when you come off home time.
sorry you did not have a good time there. i did and my tm and dm would drive me out of hours when they had loads. and they only pay by pcmiler
every one knows those are the shortest miles out there.
never get pissy at the shipper they can screw you bad. that company with the truck bodys is one of there bigger accounts and you pissed off someone. my first truck body load was cake. asked them how they showed me where to attach the chains and even helped. and then we wrapped the rest of the chain in carpet and taped it there . hauled a few of them truck bodys.
well what i think dont matter. i just know what you were doing and i know what happened wrong.
truth is there miles are by PCmiler and if you piss off there shippers your on your own and better hope there is no damage to the fright. thats all i can say.
