when i looked at the lease if you were not really careful with the truck idle time and easy on the peddle you would only get 5.5 to 6.0 mpg and you would only make your fuel tax as your paycheck. thats why i did not go lease.
they pay by PCmiler miles. those are the shortest miles because you cant run all the roads due to truck size and weight.
you want to lease and run flat bed you might try ATS OR LANDSTAR HUNT OR someone like that. tons of companys want drivers that live near houston like Carlile but they only run teams in the lower 48. and your loads go to alaska or canada.

i feel for you and the family and if you turned in the truck and went thru everything with them and had them sign off on it. i dont see how they could have charged you for equipment that was missing.

please keep us informed on this.
so who did you sign on with?

Bumpy this is for you. Pm me with any questions you have (read often, post almost never, just can't stand a lot of the #?!it talking on here ) . I'll give you straight answers. But for anyone else, avoid this company at all costs. Mandatory per diem pay 14cpm(the max. allowed by law), gimmicky bonus programs, elogs, paid when they feel like it ,no layover pay(unless customer wants to pay, never seen that happen:biggrin_25516:), charge $175 mandatory cleaning fee when you leave no matter how clean it is . Good people at TX terminal, too bad Fargo is in charge though. Some areas of country very good for freight, others downright horrible (ie:Fargo,Denver, Texas. How can you have almost no freight where your hq and all your terminals are?). They go thru dm's like water, had three myself in a little over a year. Just a small-midsized carrier that runs itsef like the big guys ie:you name'em :biggrin_25510:.

At 17 years old,I put in my 3 years for Uncle Sam as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne, then loaded trucks for 7 years working for the Del Monte Corporation..,11 years working for a flat roofing company, then 6 years running a loader for a sawmill until they went out of business.,after the "mill",I started OTR Trucking, and it IS the easiest thing I have ever done. However, prior to trucking,I used to think I was one of the bad guys.,thankfully, trucking has given me a new perspective on that idea.,as I CANNOT hold a candle to some of the brokers, dispatchers, and yes, crooked cops I have met along the way....If I were to post everything wrong and corrupt within the trucking industry,it would be a whole new thread.,but wait,it is already scattered about on this forum...:biggrin_2556: I am glad I have found this forum,as sometimes I thought it was only me being preyed upon, and it was good for the soul to know others out there have the same thing to deal with...Nuff said..

    LOL!
Ok, yes, they are "short" but not shortest and all the roads that PC Miler or any routing program that is UPDATED EVERY YEAR show roads legal to run if all the correct buttons are checked off in the options!

I have yet to see any routing program that gets miles right on the dot! Not even those that have street level mapping or as some call it door to door. I've been "close" as in 2 or 3 miles and in some cases beaten what the program showed and even that old book called HHG were very seldom on the button.

Also finding anyone who pays by the "hub" anymore because of dishonest or just plain stupid drivers who couldn't follow a straight line on a paper map because the wanted to oad their pay check is long gone. YEAH YEAH YEAH there might be a few left because their drivers know how to follow directions and don't have to go OOR all the time but still they are few and far between.

Any way I've been using routing programs since the mid 90's and still find even some of the old ones I have in the folder pretty close!

Even after 32 years I've very seldom been paid what I showed on the odometer unless it was a hub pay and that only happened when I owned my own!

well I am here again. The company is still the same. I came back after a crappy deal with national carries ok don't ever sign a lease with them.
Wylie ain't a bad company but I want more bigger loads and better miles. Miles now are a lil better but still not much better then 4500 per two weeks. Which they pay every other week. I don't like the 2012 trucks and they want to go to just lumber traps . No apu's so you have too idle and that counts on your bonus, on % idle time, fuel eco is another story. Ok ask your questions kll try and answer when I can.

I am thinking of going to this company but am a little worried. I talked to one driver who loves the place but all the reports on here seem bad. Are the miles picking up?
