Yep, It's a funny world in the specialized market...

The trks. they bought for their wind side were regular flatbed trks.
They then stuck a 4th axle under them. Some could not make bridge law, being to short in spacings.
    The schnauble trls. were nice.
    I looked at buying one.
Bad drug flash backs I guess.
Anyhow other outfits bought them up.

Wylie was the first company I worked for in early 93. They paid poorly per mile and you didn't get enough of them either. They have been partially or completely bought and sold a number of times over the years. Once they where an Ottertail subsidiary. An investment firm owned them once too. Funny no one who buys them wants to keep them.

SPD bought them from the Otter Tail Investment group. Everything has yet to be sorted out.. still learning the operations that they use.and what it will take to bring them up to speed with Walen Smokey Point Inc. organization.

I run nightly into fargo, our terminal is right beside theirs... I can tell you their yard is pretty full of oversize loads, and empty trailers. Lots of tractors sitting too.

Nice to see things haven't changed there in 20 some years.

I started with these guys OTR only because they were a local company for me. Since I lived in Fargo, you'd have thought it would have been easy ride to get home. Especially since I was also pretty new to the National Guard and had to get home for monthly drill weekends.

Yah Right... They expected me to go make up all my drills for 6 months with my unit and then give them 6-8 weeks on the road at a time.
