I applied for a drivers job at this company and took physical and drug screen. Spent two weeks getting a letter from my doctor for an old operations to clear DOT Physical. But in the end I took another drivers posistion. Sent the Safty Director an e-mail to this effect.
I short I never started work at this company and never went to there class for orentation.
Got an e-mail back today saying I owed $85.00 for physical and drug screen and if not paid it will be sent to my DAC report.
    Beware of this company.

Sounds like something that any company would do, if they spent money on your physical and drug screen, and then you jumped ship on 'em. Can't say that I blame 'em.

The company I went to work for told me up front I would have to pay if I didn't accept the job, or if I failed the drug screen. Then when Hired I had to sign an agreement that if I left within the first 90 days, I would have to pay for it.. sounded fair to me.. Made my 90 days, so that is gone out of my worries..
Best of luck with your choice in positions..

I'm not exactly sure what charge they would offer on your DAC report, other than you quit during orientation, a technicality, but I'm like some of the others on this.

You applied for a job there. You were accepted for potential hire upon meeting all of the pre-hire qualifications. They were willing to work with you to meet those qualifications. You bailed on them after partially starting that process.

$85.00 was spent by them, and that's a very reasonable price for both a physical and a drug screen.

The way I see it, you owe them the money. Why should they eat the cost because you had some difficulty meeting the medical qualifications, and decided to take another job in the interim?

Why risk a problem in the future? Pay them or risk having to fight a blemish on your record that will turn employers off to you for seven years.

They waste 85 dollars on alot of drivers because they dont pay jack diddly squat. You probably didnt work there long enough to be considered an employee. If they can't eat eighty five bucks then maybe they should close the doors so drivers dont waste their time working for these kinda outfits.
