I have first hand knowledge May Trucking is a very poor company and does not give a rat ### about its drivers. I was hurt on duty and ended up with surgery. May Trucking Company treated me like I was a criminal. They interogated me several times(Insurance). They lied to me and even their Insurance Company lied to me. They followed me around, in fact I caught the guy, and confronted him. I even called the local police and filed a report. May Trucking said they knew nothing about it. May Trucking Company also staked out my parents house. They did give me light duty work that was a joke. It was so bad and frivolous that they wanted to make me quit. I was forced to sit in my personnel vehicle and use my own fuel to stay warm. I guess the average 5 to 10 trators parked there were not availiable? One night I left for dinner in my personel vehicle and my steering broke thus I had an accident. Called May Trucking in Oregon and the first question from the supervisor was what time am I claiming til. Several minutes later I was finally asked if I was injured. Gee thanks for caring! Oh one other thing. My mother passed away and even when May Trucking was advised NO ONE from May Trucking In Denver called to say a word.
I had complications with my surgery the night of my surgery. I got very sick and returned to the hospital and spent two nighst in the cardiac unit. NO ONE from May called or said a thing. No I was not wanting my hand held but come on, I am an employee who worked very hard for May Trucking. I guess May Trucking only sees employees as numbers and dont give a rats ### about them.

I am not allowed to talk about my settlement because they wrote it into my settlement.(wonder why?) I can tell you their attorney told mine that May Trucking was knowingly not paying me the correct weekly wages on my workmans compensation claim. They knowingly under paid me for over 6 months. May Trucking paid my vacation pay by taking the time I worked not to include the workmans compensation and dividing it by the entire year. So they dont pay you fairly. They took the 6 months of normal work and divided it by 363 days. They even included the days days off. So if you take days off you are being punished when you get your vacation pay since they include those days as your average daily wage. In my case the srewed me even more since they paid me less than half of what I was owed. Gee thanks. Also you should read the class action lawsuit in California against May Trucking.

The next issue I can talk about in great detail is that May Trucking claimed I worked and earned my income in Utah as oppose to Denver, Colorado where I live, worked, parked my tractor on days off, my supervisor is here, and trained here. May Trucking did not report my income to the Colorado Dept of Labor. Funny is according to my pay stub my home was in Colorado with May Trucking Colorado tax ID number. I paid Colorado State taxes and filed my taxes in Colorado. According to Colorado Department of Revenue Tax Investigation Unit that is not right. There is NO reason for them to show my income earned in Utah. Please find out where your income is claimed. No not from May but the Colorado Dept of Labor. Ask them how much income has been reported in the state of Colorado by May Trucking. I can tell you if something ever happens this will effect YOU !

All this is above the fact how the lie to you, make you sit so they can give their pets the loads. How they will try to charge you for fuel stops, yes even with your DM setting it up. They will do everything to make money even off their employees. They dont pay for detention time, you have to argue to get idle time when it is 110 degrees. I was forced to drive with bad tires. I was told by their mechanics to drive a truck that had bad steering pump. The steering locked up on me while driving. The mechanics told me they drove around the parking lot and could not find anything.Really? I forced them to do more like test the pump. Nope they could not do it so I had to drive to Peterbuilt. The DMs wait till the end of their day on a friday to tell you no loads making you sit over the weekend. It seems like logistics people are paid under the table by the DMs or certain terminals to get better loads for their pets and for trainers. Yes this has happened. I have seen them tell drivers right before the DM goes home that there is no loads but did nothing all day to attempt to find a load for the driver. .

Yes all companies have issues. I can tell you that my story is not a one time deal with May Trucking or an isolated incident. I am not a disgruntled employee as much as one that is a victim of an bad organization.

Were you sitting with the DM all day to know for a fact they weren't doing anything.Ive say over 24hrs before if freight is slow its slow. You seem like the type of person who won't be happy anywhere.

Yes this the common response you get from someone who thinks their positive experience somehow negates the negative experience of another driver. Why they think that ? Who knows. Lower forms of intellect will also throw in the misfit card to explain why they are such a success at a crappy outfit while the other driver is not.

I was not happy at May and that was before they turned their trucks into rolling roadblocks. I am very happy at my current driving job in which I have been at for 5years now. My time at May? 6mos. Yep that is all I could stomach and I am far from a job hopper since I put in over 2yrs at IDC, KLLM, and FW and almost 7yrs at USX.

My opinion is that anyone can be happy at any trucking company. Just depends on how much bull your willing to put up with. And at May it was not the miles or the people. It was the shoddy facility's and the amount of free work you had to do to get a decent check. I mean come on are you really going to praise a company that charges drivers to idle in the summer and has 4hr dock waits before they even think about paying you chump change. And who wants to be out 4 to 6 weeks at a time to pull in 12k miles a month? Because you ain't getting 12k at May if you have any life outside of trucking . Their layovers and detentions are 2 numerous to let you go home every 10-14 days and do 12K a month. I remember my first mo complaining about 9k and the dp told me I was in the top 3 on the board. LOL that is the norm at May people 8 or 9k a month. Had to leave that outfit just out of boredom alone. I mean SuperValue Albertsons, Safeway, Vons? Is that really where any serious road warrior wants to hang out at in between 500 mile runs?

I agree with you. However as you know bottling this within isn't good for the soul.
Longer you stay at a place even when your doing well but your tired of the ######## is akin to psychological warfare You begin to wonder how long can you take it,
one month becomes a two, three months becomes a year etc.. Its healthy to vent .

I'm far from a lower form of intellect. If I'm grossing1000_1400a week why would I leave.whether I'm home once a week or 4 times a month what does it matter to you. I'm 27 no kids and saving tons of money to use my VA loan and buy a house.

Idle is now 45%. Thats 10hrs a day in the summer. I agree with them charging if someone is gonna idle when its 55 out. If you can't sleep you send in an idle request its that simple. And you don't get charged. If you can't do something that simple you deserve it.

And I've been here over 2 years and haven't been to any of those places. Me I frankly like being out for 4weeks. Its a good starter company. Thats all I'm gonna say on that. Not gonna start a pizzing match.ive met people at england that are happy and get good miles. Every person needs to find a company thatfits them.yes they have stuff I don't like but oh well. Maybe after I leave a company I haven't worked at In a while I'll comment on them even though I have no idea what has changed. You have a good, night driver. N and I'll be happy to show my settlements to back up my words.

Seriously they charge drivers whom don't send in a idle request how does that policy work and if they charge you how much?
    Curious is all.
