I guess i cant stomach the the way the industry has gone, treating most like dirt,no brother hood, not many friendly faces, and shipper and receiver and brokers not being very humane. COME ON what happen to the BJ an the bear smokey an the bandit days LOL. It would be nice to see it good out there like the older days.An i beg to differ it is not all that you make of it cuz theres is a lot ,not in your control, driver.NOT saying drivers are not to blame either .

Not quite, IMHO. The government's craving to control everything started with trucking just because it was so easy to demonize "those evil truckers", after all, they were always in your way, right? And when there was a horrific accident and a truck was involved (no matter if a 4 wheeler started the chain of events), it was soooo easy to blame the trucker, so let's have more rules and regs to solve this non existent problem. DON'T look at the real problem, don't look at all the ignorant 4 wheelers and what it would take to change their driving habits, noooooo.

Trucking was an easy target, but what else is regulated way more than back in the day? Guns, smoking, how big a soft drink you can buy?

And as a result, I now drive when I am tired waaaaay more that I did in the "old days". Thank you for making me safer, Big Government.

only someone who believed everything what the mega-school taught them would say such a thing

look at the guy who started this thread: Why CSA 2010 and E-Logs are a good thing.

    same sheep mentality

The "BJ and the bear days" never existed....And I have been in this business since before that fictional TV show made it's TV debut. What killed the trucking industry ? Deregulation. Opened the door to the current cut throat, low rate conditions that exist now in the ever cheaper "race to the bottom"..Churn those new drivers, pay them less and keep lying to them about how "it's not a job-it's a lifestyle"...Fortunately, fewer and fewer drivers are believing that fairy tale. They are seeing this business for what it is...And the bottom feeders will still whine about that mythical "driver shortage"...which does not exist.
