CTS-Sherwin Williams is not a company you want to work for!!! Yes the money is good but the company will not back a driver if you have a problem with a dispatcher or other members of management. They slip seat all the trucks and good luck if you get the same truck back at the end of the week, and if you break down Penske will bring you the worst truck they can find(CTS lease thru Penske). You will work 14hrs a day and might have 10 hrs off if your lucky, forget about your weekends and holiday's they promise you. Most loads are over weight if they are local and you are told to avoid scales or you pay the fine, breakdowns and delays are only paid after the first 2 hours. Just a warning to those looking at driving for CTS-Sherwin Williams.

My friend, I do not know which DSC you worked out of or for how long. Although it does sound like you had a bad experiance. This is bound to happen at even the best of companies. But as a long time driver for Sherwin Williams I truley would have to disagree with you. We were just named one of the most ethical companies in the world. I will agree on somedays you will work all 14 hours and yes only get your 10 off then go again. This totally up to you though, you will NEVER be pushed to do anything illegal at anytime. Slip seating is a rare occasion. This must have happen with you being new and they were working to get you a permenant truck. One last point I will make and promise you this, dispatch and or management will back there driver 100% of the time. In all of my years of trucking this has always shocked me with SW everytime something has come up. So yes as some of the other responses have stated, I would easily say SW is one of the10 best driving jobs there is out there.

I'm going thru the app / interview process right now with Ruan out of Reno....& if half the things I was told by the terminal manager are true, this looks to be a great possibility. I know Ruan has multiple contracts, but the SW deal I'd be on pays very well ( $.40/ up to 2200 guaranteed miles, .45/mi after ). Plus most likely thru Reno on a week day ( not for home necessarily ) and home for a reset on the weekends. Stop pay, breakdown, etc. I'm hoping it comes thru, and will update if it does.

I got into otr trucking to make some money. I thought my current job would provide that, but there is too much waiting on loads and when you do get loads, they are short runs. Lack of miles in general. Pay is .40/cpm but what is the point if you're not turning the wheels?
I talked to a SW driver in OK parked right next to me at a truck stop and he was telling me that I could make close to 80k/year with them. Is this true?
