Becareful going to work for JBS. Their an OK company to work for to begin with, but they wont hesitate to through you under the bus when it suits their needs.
I'm one of thoes old school drivers. Been driveing for 25yrs. I don't claim to know everything, cuse you learn something new everyday.
For insstance; after working with JBS for 4 years, I found out ,the hard way, that when they are done using you they wont back you up when you get in a bind.
They don't hesitate to fire you over the least little thing they can find. You wanna do things right, dispatch will starv you out and /or even recomend you get termed. If you keep your DM happy but then get in a safety bind,DM don't know nothing and safety says it's time you go.
JBS Safey will not hesitate to distroy your DAC File either. So think twice before looking at JBS.

He probably had an accident and he got fired. I don't know why but I wonder if its the guy who got sent home to Oregon a couple weeks ago.

This is why you do your best to stay out of trouble. You probably don't know how hard your fleet manager fought for you. But now you are going to throw the company under the bus because you made a mistake and was let go. 4 years at such a terrible company. Get real guy. This is trucking, and we know all our good is forgot about 10 minutes after you do it. So we can't depend on our old works to keep us from getting fired when we do something that cost the company lots of money. They have to satisfy the insurance companies, and the insurance companies don't care about how many hot loads you delivered. They just don't want to be paying another claim from your mistake.

Hope it works out for you and you find decent employment, but I'm sure it's not your dac that is keeping you from employment. It's your recent accident if that is why you were let go. That companies are hesitant to pull the trigger on.

They still do. 29 a week for family insurance. You can't beat that with a stick.

I was in Greeley at the end of last year and OP's story reminds me of a multiple year company driver with a long career history also in the shuttle truck who was being let go because he had nodded off while driving and damaged the truck. He admitted to Safety that he fell asleep driving so they were pretty much forced to let him go. Not for damaging the truck but for falling asleep. You can see how allowing someone to continue to drive after you know they fall asleep driving would be reckless.

In my experience JBS almost always allows a second chance and when they do terminate a driver without one it's for serious safety violations caused by the driver in question

You know we all make mistakes - no matter what industry we work in. We as truck drivers are in an extremely safety sensitive position. Safety is and should be our number one priority when we are behind the wheel. But even the most safety conscious driver can make a mistake. Unfortunately, even it is just one mistake, it can potentially ruin our career or cause us to be let go.

I've been driving for over twenty years and I know that there can be an accident or mishap right around the corner. JBS Carriers has been good to me - I've had my dealings with safety - be it mistakes on HOS or something else. I feel I have always been treated fairly by the entire company.

Hope you find success again somewhere Triple Six....

Just some FYI. I have never had so much as a bumper scratch in my 25 yrs of driveing. Their biggest issue was HOS violations. Becuse I did whatever it took to get the load deliverd on time. Weather it was my load or a relay load. I never asked for relays, didn't need them, but had to do several for other drivers. I know I shouldn't of done most of them runs, but I was doing my best to keep the Companty in good standers with their customers. I'm not saying I didn't do anything wrong, because we all do or have at one time. All I was saying, was insted of letting me know I was close to loosing my job, they just let me hang myself. Even though I did countless favores for them. From my DM,to Office Managers and even for safety. But they forgot all that when it came down to it. The only thing I ever cost them was the bus fair up to Greely 4yrs ago. I guess I shouldn't say there a awfull comp, but they forget all you may have done for them when it comes down to you or them.

Don't ever be a good company man; you are only throwing yourself under the bus. Just be a good safe driver. From what I've witnessed over the years, those good company men aren't really respected by the desk jockeys, just looked at as suckers. When you do anything illegal to get the job done; the desk jockeys will deny everything if you get in trouble; "you should have told us you were out of hours." It's OK to be the "go to" driver when something needs doing, as long as you do it legally and don't mind the extra work or pay, but one mistake and you're history with the company.
