It will vary from company to company. At Schneider, idle time didn't count until you were stationary for five minutes. Here at Crete, it starts as soon as no motion is detected, so just between the two of those, the variance is huge.

If I figured right you are looking at less than 1 hour a day.Hope they do not count that crap during winter or summer.
-
they count that for winter and summer

They have a terminal here, And now I know why their in craigslist EVERY day.
-
they told me the company policy is 1% a month but you can idle between 5-15% which is about 3.5 hours a day, but anything over 15% then i will get a call from them..they just started to implement these rules on drivers, like if you get a speeding ticket only 5mph over the speed limit and if you dont wear a seat belt and get a ticket, they will fire you right away..it was not like that before, they came out with this #### beggining of thisn year

My company has no limits for idling, only asks us to not be excessive, idling when its 60f and mild for example.
-
they were like that last year till they change their policy this month
-
It works out to about 2 minutes for every 60 minutes driving time.

If you do not have a bunk heater or APU, I would be asking if they also plan on selling the company HQ airconditioning and heating systems for scrap, and then have tremendous reductions in their bills. And of course telling all office employees that they are not allowed to heat or cool their homes, because that would just be a waste of their paycheck.
kerosene jockey, kirk, drozzer69 and 1 other person Thank this.
