They don't have "drivers", they have "contractors". As a contractor, in a given week or month, a lot have things have to go right to make decent money, and if only a few things go wrong, you're probably going end up with a loss. That's business. In business you have to make your own openings and insure things go right. I realize that JCT adds numerous hurdles additionally but if research was done, he knew what he was getting into. The truck you get (end up with) may be a peach and may be a lemon that will suck a new contractor dry before he gets around the track once.

I am not trying to be a ######## , but if you work for a company and you are considerd a "contractor", or "lease operator", or if you are getting paid on a 1099, be afraid!,very afraid!, look over all contracts or agreements before signing on!

To be fair, the JCT business model is not like many of the others lease and "rental" operations that are out there. You know going on you are becoming a "business operator", not a company driver. So 1099's are applicable there, because you are responsible for all costs involving the operation of the truck.

Yeah a lot of people dont realize that operating a trucking buisness is comparable to opening a resturant, most fail in the first 4 years.

L/P most od the time is designed for you too fail. JCT is designed for youto fail. If you want to be an owner operator, save money and buy a truck. L/P takes advantage of people, they promise the world. Like they say, if it sounds to good to be true it probably is. There are no short cuts too becoming an owner operator.

Is JCT all lease operators, or do they have company drivers?

No company drivers employed directly by JCT, however there may be some larger[er] fleet owners there who employ drivers as employees, but I'm just guessing.

Can we please stop allowing people who get burned in "Lease to own plans" from posting.

We all know these programs don't pay. Yet we have to listen to someone who thought they were going to better at running a truck than everyone else that came before them.

Then they come on here and say "BEWARE!". (sigh)
