I have been around a long time-since 1987 in trucking. PTL has always been a crap company.

    Scott_002002 and 123456 Thank this.

My 1st 4 weeks with PTL has been great after leaving the nightmare of FFE (Frozen Food Express.) Over 10,000 miles in my 1st 4 weeks with PTL. The dispatchers and all PTL’s Staff have been super. Now the down side? PTL's maintenance shop in West Memphis Arkansas is a joke! Remember it’s your CSA score. Cover your ### when it comes to a company truck. As for the rest of the company? It’s been great! except the motel they use for company drivers.

It is funny how so many drivers complain about trucking companies. Witch most is newbies. As for the way I see it, there all the same. It depends on the best BS you can put up with to survive.

Here I read all this slander about PTL. But theses postings have no actual facts about the company, or do they want to post their remarks in Paschall Truck Lines / Drivers Reviews and Comments.

Okay, i started out with c.r. England and found out quickly that they didn't care about the drivers. I went on-line searching for companies that would hire new drivers to the trucker life. I came across p.t.l & decided why not check these guys out. They put me on a greyhound to ky. That wasn't bad because i'm coming from il. So the ride wasn't that long. Once we arrived to ky. Greyhound we met a shuttle driver who was pretty cool but the problem was they had 1 van for like 24 people. O.k. Every company has its problems & i can deal with that.when i left il. It was 11:00 a.m. But by the time i finally made it to the hotel it was like midnight. Finally i'm thinking i could get some sleep in a nice cozy comfortable bed &get out of the cold. I walk into the lobby & i'm like it's only going to be a couple of days i'll tough it out but when my roommate & i opened the door we looked at each other in complete disbelief, are you serious? How do you have an alarm clock & telephone in your room that doesn't work?(good thing for modern technology, lol) instantly this sent up red flags. Again i'm thinking this was only for a couple of days but the fun stuff had not even begun.

I must admit the meals were great and yes the staff talked to you like they really cared, boy was i wrong!!!

Finally, after 3 days of orientation & sleeping in a super crappy hotel it's time to hit the road. Already knowing i'm super new to running rigs i get a trainer but he won't be at the terminal for another day(wow). The next day comes i get my trainer, the guy seems really cool in the beginning & we seem to hit off pretty good. He takes me to wal-mart to pack up some things,a smart move if your short on funds & you don't want be just limited to 2/3bucks pilot fuel food.

We finally hit the road & our first stop is in the northeast, no biggie it's just a road trip and we're getting mi. To start. He decides to drive first because we left later than we planned because we swapped loads and we had plenty of time to make our appt. Anyway,we get to ohio and park for the night. We get up about 0400 the next morning he tells me to drive and it's no problem but as we are rolling down the road this guy decides to urinate in his cup. I'm like dude what the #### are you doing why not just tell me to pull over he says "i want to stay on time "! I'm the trainee so i let it go & continue driving towards the n/e, i dive my 11 out & we switch he says "we should be stopping because i'm really not suppose to drive " i'm like o.k. He starts driving down the hwy & i eventually fall asleep but suddenly wake up due to his swerve, i look up this guy has pulled his pants to his ankles & is urinating in this same cup while he is driving (literally). Instantly we get into it. Knowing that i had never driven through the a.g. Mnt or the poconos he's pissed off at me & decides to make me drive these mountains at like 2-3 o'clock in the a.m. Even though i told him i didn't feel comfortable w/it.
The next morning we get to east coast and operations calls to see how the newbie is doing i inform them of the situation , they laugh like i'm joking. I even talked to the so called head of training & he tells me this is trucking. I inform him that i'm not comfortable w/mtn driving at night ,i'm new and i know i have to learn but this is unacceptable, they talk to him but nothing changes. We make it to our delivery and get our load going back this dude starts dosing off while he's driving this was the last straw. I call dispatch at the rest stop and tell them again about my situation and they put me on hold for 30 min. And hang up. We finally pull over at another rest stop for the night we argue and i call dispatch , that was it i couldn't take anymore of this guy.
The next afternoon the so-called head of training calls me and i talk to him about this and he says to me either drive your hos and finish your training or quit and we'll send you home. Ofcourse i said i quit and i would like to go home they said fine and routed me home.

I never left the truck until i got to my approved destination , i didn't damage their equipment nor did i curse them or shout. They gave me an ultimatum i took it so why did they put a negative report in my dac after i made them aware of what was taking place w/ their so-called trainer?
