I have been with Knight for over 3 years now and have worked for many other truck lines before that. I dont run past PA anymore and never have ran west for them. They have appeared stable so far, my relation has always laughed at me and got mad at me stating they have worked for the same company for 30 years or more and I have had over 30 jobs. Well thats now changed finally with Knight. My wifes side of the family has even given me a lot of flack about that too. Im grateful and planning on being with Knight from now on.

We live in Missouri too and had lived in Arkansas. Where abouts are you thinking of living. I'm sure your husband knows to stay away from JB Hunt. When he is ready to look at different companies tell him to put Roehl Transport on the list. Crete is also suppose to be good. If he is willing to do flatbed there is also Maverick which is in Little Rock, Ar. Good Luck. We have had some hard times with past companies but are now headed in the right direction.

Hi you ask about texas star express. Well their main customer is homedepot. You pu load 7 8 am and sit delaptfor 22 2400 hrs that night for a 300mi load so if youlike running a avg. 300 mi a day and are ok with a company treating drivers like garbage this is the company for you .They told me when I came to work forthemthey went to Il,In,Mo,Ks but 98% of the time you will be running Tx,Ar and La new orleans area.

Any way this is too long of a story. My husband is always complaining about finding mts there is never enough mts and he waists his hours on looking for them and be careful with that as well he was confronted by an angry knight driver wanting his emt trailer as soon as drops it but unfortunaty for the other guy he was not droping he was keeping his mt. Knight also has an advertisement on a calender (no more looking for mts and they say theyll pay better) what a joke! and be careful if u refer someone to them be sure to let it be known or u wont get paid. But I wouldnt refer any one there its a disaster. They are also bad about getting u home oh and be careful of loads they gave my husband a load as he was driving down the road they changed sent him somewhere else then the second load got changed by the 3rd time he was so frustrated and cussed them out. They like to screw with u a lot. Yes even wives get crap from companies because we have a family to support and bills to pay and we got to put up with their complaints but its ok because my husband is going to find a new company to drive for and if any one has a sugestion of a better company I would be very thankful. He has apps out to different companies but not sure which to go with. thank you for listening and letting me vent. sincerely Melony
As a 4 yr driver with them. I cant argue with ANYTHING you have said!!
They are 'MT poor', have only a 2:1 trlr/tractor ratio (all other big Nat Carriers have 4:1 or more!) and much time is wasted looking for those trlrs that are supposedly available by Terion tracking with cargo status sensors!!
Terion is only used for lost, stolen, or misplaced trlrs NOT for finding MT's for drivers---a bill of goods sold us drivers to get them in to be modified!!!
I'm just treading water till I retire in 14 months....LONGSUFFERING!

I drove for knight for 6 years, payroll has always had problems. But as long as you have your trip number for what you didnt get paid for,go to your terminal manager and he should be able to resolve the issue. Finding mts has and always will be a problem, especially now that they have the ratio down to
1 1/2 trailers per truck. The main reason I left was because of the high turn over rate on dispatchers. And the hireing of kids fresh out of school who have no practicle experience nor any idea what trucking involves.
Plus they have lost their human touch,it's now a number not a name.. I liked it much better when they were smaller....

Fresh out of school

I love it when people say "they hire fresh out of school". I didn't realize so many truckers were born in the back of a truck. Remember you all started somewhere......and at one point you were all new. It seems to be a common thread among trucker website to blame everything on the new drivers, yes many people need more experience but that's not that easy to get unless someone lets you behind the wheel of a truck with a QUALIFIED TRAINER. Most trucks I see ripping down the road at 90 mph cutting off everyone else are probably not newbies, there in the gov truck at 60 mph.

I wold just about guarantee you, that those "ripping down the road at 90 mph cutting off everyone" ARE the newbies or those with only a FEW years of experience (less than 5). I don't know many grizzled veterans who act this way, and I stay away from those who do.

Roadkill,
I didn't mean to get off subject there, I was actually trying to point out the fact that everyone starts somewhere.

Now getting back to people driving fast, I say this because my wife and I ride our mortorcycle on long trips and we avoid the interstate beacuse when I'm running 70 mph and a Big Truck passes me going at least 20-30 mph faster it pratically throws me off the road or trys to pull you under it. I can tell you this dosen't happen with the large slow gov trucks(where the newbies are). Most of the ones I'm talking about seem to be fancy fixed up trucks with all the bells and toys and I'll bet their not being driven by newbies.

My late dad drove a truck his entire working career as an O/O so know one has more respect for them then I do and I'm looking into getting into it myself, so not trying to be a cry baby but, you know there is some truth to my comments as I agree with yours.
