I too started there in 89 and the first couple years were not so good. I could not get hired anywhere else because of my previous work history. Even Swift would not hire me so I ended up lying on my application for J.B. You probably remember having to call back every couple hours to find a load and such. After 3 or 4 years I started doing their intermodal when it was just coming online and ended up staying there until 2005. I don't think I am a bad driver and when I left I think I was making a pretty good wage. The only people I know there now only run rail freight locally and they all do very well as far as wages. That being said, those people have been there 18 - 25 years. I don't know how the new drivers are making out but I heard not so well. And I dont know anything about their DCS, dedicated or regional etc.....If I was starting out I don't think I would be looking at them.

Hahaha. What a joke. My buddy went to work for JB Hunt Intermodal out of Harrisburg. Was promised $1000 a week before taxes. Was like that for about two weeks. By the time he left he was barely getting $600 before taxes. What a crock they are. I've heard that from more than just my buddy too. AVOID THE BOTTOM FEEDERS!!!!!

There are no other companies in my area that pay higher wages than jb yea I talk good about jb because they pay high and treat me well and unlike you I don't have to go apply for welfare to make ends meet .

I defend J.B. Hunt because I currently work there AND am extremely happy there. They are an extremely large trucking outfit so of course people are gonna cry about them. Most people that post on here post negative comments. The positive posts start out that way but you usually cannot find the OP after a few months. I appreciate the other positive drivers on this and other threads. You need to get the big picture and evaluate everything before applying to ANY trucking job. I have seen several guys on my account quit recently. Some took a job elsewhere for better money and others left because they felt like they were treated unfairly. I felt that way before and if it happens here I will move on and post the reasons why and where I started my new job at. I have nothing to hide here. Just a regular guy trying to pay my bills like everyone else.

On a side note- the night drivers at our DC are not making the miles they were promised. I do know they expected to have a very busy spring which has started a little slow. Hopefully management will adapt to these changes and help everyone on the account get the miles they deserve.
