| Am I surprised? Come on..... It's no surprise somebody is lying to you about how much your hauls pay. There is nothing in trucking that keeps brokers honest, save for your own freedom to walk away from those that screw you over on compensation. And considering few drivers/companies confirm how much loads do pay, most brokers will indeed lie to you. There's nothing stopping them but fear of divine retribution or the fires of hell.
All one has to do is follow a broker home after work and see what kind of house he lives in. That'll tell the tale if he's an honest broker or a liar whose mansion, BMW, and swimming pool were paid for with YOUR sweat. I've heard of brokers who will take 500 bucks right off the top, charge a commission to boot, and do it all in two phone calls with five minutes of labor. And yeah...those guys live in big ol' mansions and drive nice Benzes. If I MYSELF were running their loads, their pickings would be honest, as I'd always check on their #####. Their house, car, and trimmings would reflect their skill levels. A broker living in a mansion is as warped as a pizza delivery guy living in a mansion.

Yeah I drive a Swift truck
And that means one thing
It means she's slow
It's a typical company truck
It's just all show and no go
I'm gettin' passed by Yella
And even Overnite
I'm gettin' passed by ever' body in sight
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight
No, my hometown's nowhere in sight
And if you think I'm pissed off
You're right
46 days on the road
And I'm not gettin' home tonight
Love pissing off those trucking company insiders.
