I hope all new and old truck drivers stay away from JB Hunt. My husband work for them for over 10 years off and on. For the last 5 years JB Hunt has gone down hill in the worst way. They don't care about the drivers, equipment, or your logs. All they care about is getting the load there on time. The dispatchers have no clue of what they are doing. They keep cutting your pay, but they want you to do the same work. You never get home, like they say you would. My husband got fired because the dispatcher was harassing him so much that he finally had enough and told her, do what you have to do. Since, Arkansas is own by JB Hunt they denied him unemployment, even after repealing twice. So, all of you JB Hunt drivers out there, I hope that you are careful with your dispatcher, for there is nobody at JB to help you with them. Being a wife of a truck driver who went with my husband a lot, saw all of the things that the dispatchers did to him and we both called the person above her, but she did nothing either. For one month straight if you can believe it, his dispatcher could not find him a truck that would run. He was out of work for over a month without pay for his dispatcher, said that there were no trucks and even through it was JB Hunt fault that he had no truck, you don't get paid. I could go on and on, just do me a favor, please stay away from this company.
Stay away from jb hunt

It couldn't of been that bad if he hung around for 10 years, I'd bail in 10 minutes if a company sat me for more than a couple days without a trk...

Hi, yes my husband stay with JB Hunt for the last 5 years continuous, but is was not because it was a great company to work for. It was because he came down with cancer and I have had 5 operation on my stomach since the year 2010. It was all because of the insurance. We really had no choice in him leaving and getting a new job. Before the last five years he did try other companies and they were really all the same. No runs, not good pay and I always like JB Hunt and that is why he went back to them. But like I said, now they just don't care about the drivers, equipment. I just wanted to let you know that is why it was not that easy for him to just leave. Sheila

I worked for JB Hunt for a year. It was by far the worst company I ever worked for. Rude dispatchers and liars. I have nothing nice to say about this worthless company . Here is just one example. I was at St.Louis just before Thanksgiving. I live in Asheville NC . There were 3 NC loads sitting on their drop lot. They would have passed within a mile of my house. They sent me to Wisconsin. So that's where I spent Thanksgiving. This is just one example. But gives you an insight into their nonexistent concern for a driver. Work for them if u like getting treated like less than dirt . I am sure that many companies hate the fact that drivers can use the internet to spead the news about them. By the way, I have worked for 3 other companies in the last 20 years and I don't bash them. JB HUNT was a bad experience. Wish I had listened to the people that said stay away.

Those NC loads, how do you know they were'nt already dispatched to other drivers?

What's the odds all three loads were dispatched? Its just one of many examples I could give. Don't get fixated on it. I did orientation in Forest Park GA. With about 31 drivers. When I quit one year later there were 4 remaining . I know this because they put our pictures in a line on the wall. Along with other drivers out of the terminal. I used to check it out every time I came through. Seems to indicate a pretty high turnover. When I was introduced to my dispatcher Robert Roland the first words out of his mouth were,"I don't want to be your friend". And he was rude and unfriendly every time I dealt with him. I went to work for MS Carriers next and stayed 9 months. And then I went to Crete Carrier Corp and stayed 18 years. I quit them to stay home and assist my cancer stricken mother. When I ran out of Crete's Spartanburg terminal I was always among the top 5 drivers in miles/month. I also have a 15 year safe driving award from Crete. It's not 17 years because I scraped a fender on my truck in 1996. I guess I've driven 2.5 million miles. And paid for 2 new trucks during that time with my Crete money. And I hated working for JB HUNT. Crete Carrier was what I thought trucking would be like when I started trucking. Matter of fact when I started at Crete I had a bad attitude and thought Crete would just be the next company to treat me badly. A few months went by and I was waiting to see how things went. And they were treating me well. I was running good miles. Thats the way I thought things ought to work. So that's why I stayed all those years. I generally averaged about 11500 miles per month back then.Oh, and those 2 new trucks I bought? I paid cash thanks to the good income I made. Paid cash for a new car too.
