TransAm Trucking is the worst company out there. If you are thinking about leasing from them then you should think twice. They have a huge turn over rate because all they want is someone to pay for their trucks! I know trucking companies will tell you anything so that you will go to work for them but this place is unbelievable when it comes to lying. They tell you that you need to run 1600 miles and that will cover you truck payment and fuel but thats a bunch of CRAP!!! I'll put it this way I ran 3500 miles in one week and had to fight with my Driver manager to get them and only came home with $730.00 and i used their fuel solutition they gave me. And when I called leasing to try to figure out what I could do to to make money the blew me off. So I changed the way I was fueling and pursching the cheapest fuel I could get I still didn't make any money. In 12 weeks I averaged less than $500.00 a week. Then when I gave my 2 week notice and did everything the right way the way they wanted me to they still SCREWED me out of my last 2 weeks I worked!!!! This company is nothing but a bunch of THEIVES!!!!! Stay Away!!!!!!
TransAm trucking Is a TERRIBLE company to work for!!!!!!!

When will you people learn that truck leases are a bad idea?
Down the road, pete1 and pattyj Thank this. -
well i will never say leasing is the best or that it is for everyone
but as a transam lease operator those figures dont add up to what i see
2800 miles last week was $840
my last 3500 mile week was $1448
still not good but Trans am is built around new people and not for veteren drivers
if the original pster really has 32 years how did he miss that partLonesome Thanks this. -
Actually, for a lease,
he did better than alot of folks......... -
I just finished a 6 month lease and everytime I had a small check I knew it was something I did wrong. 2/3 of the time it was me. But I stuck it out and in the end after all the maintenance costs I got a Lease completion bonus of $900. Now I working for a local meat dist here in Florida. If I could I would do TransAm again but as a Company driver.

that's why they call them transcam all they do is scam drivers out of money and get the trks back!!!

I see they advertise $ .84 / mile plus surcharge. That's all I need to know. I ran for .85 / mile plus surcharge in 1999. In a truck I bought new for 85k. And I wanted more $ then. Everything was a lot cheaper then. I would get a full service oil change in Barstow for $ 115 . New Michilen tires for about $ 250:thru the company's national account. I remember buying fuel for $.85 / gallon in OKC once. Things have changed.

The OP claims 32 years as a trucker.
Why with 32 years experience would you fall for a lease scam with a bottom feeder outfit?DriverToBroker Thanks this. -
Desperation? Maybe his DAC or CSA score might be a bit unacceptable?

Brings back the memories of the coal miners shopping at the company store. Your paycheck went to the company store first and you were left with next to nothing.
