Why couldn't srt have another srt driver get his stuff home instead of charging 2 frickin grand? The M.E. would probably let him her take it with the family's permission

    mje Thanks this.

I have also chewed on SRT's hind end on this issue, but in all fairness, I wish they would step up and make some explanation as to why this happened the way it did. If they dropped the ball, at least apologize. Their silence is telling. It implies a certain level of guilt, if nothing else, but in public opinion.

Not sure what legal recourse there is available to the wife and family, but I am sure that some enterprising law firm is already looking at options. And likewise, I would be willing to bet that SRT/CTG has already consulted with their legal beagles to find out how they can cover their rear. I am sure this saga will not end soon.

I think the issue they might claim is that this was not a family member making an inquiry. It was the girl friend.

    mje Thanks this.

just found their facebook page, and they have it set up so you can't comment.
But they still have their private message option.
So here's what I said to the them, the lowest life company of all time.

This proves beyond the shadow of a doubt,
your company truly does not stand 100% behind your drivers and their families. And don't you dare say all companies do this. How would you know? You don't

Pretty sad when a large carrier such as you , can't get off your high horse, and help get the deceased driver home to his family, with out charging them a dime up front.
WHAT IF IT WAS TO HAPPEN TO ANYONE IN UPPER MANAGEMENT??? Would you charge their family? Or not help in any way. Highly probable, you would help.

`STOP TREATING TRUCK DRIVERS & THIER FAMLIES WITH LITTLE OR NO RESPECT
With us, you wouldn't be in business!

This has made the main stream media, as well as all the trucking media outlets. Yet you won't even go on camera and explain your lame ### 'policy'
Do you not have a conscience? How can you sit there, and charge a family to send their dead family member home, not to mention his belongings.
Your now going to have a huge job , cleaning up this public relations night mare.
And I'm going to do my part by telling every one on my social media pages about your INEXCUSABLE ***k UP!
Evan a mom n pop 3 truck operation would help bring their driver home .
It's not like you can't afford it.
I hope that you lose every single driver over this.

If she was listed as an emergency contact, etc then that doesn't wash as far as the contact and inquiry. It's completely wrong of them to have not sent anyone either, which they did not. I've been following this since it hit FB when he went missing, even before he was found.

    mje Thanks this.

I make no excuse for them, but if the driver never updated the emergency contact, they cannot be blamed for not talking to them. But, there is no excuse for looking into the matter which they did not do at all.

    mje Thanks this.

If a driver dies in an accident in a company truck.
Is the company required by law to act then?

    mje and Lilbit Thank this.
