When i started with us xpress after nine years of driving i thought finally heres a place i could retire from. They gave me a older automatic volvo to start out with had many problems. I looked passed that because me being me outgoing friendly to all and get what i want and need after i meet and talk with everyone to build relationships in the office or at the shop. after a couple of months dealing with repairs and things with this run down truck i got a new prostar as it turns out its a glorified daycab but i adapted to it tweaked it so me and my dog could fit in it. Now this isnt a big deal minor prob so lets move oniI was loving this job. great pay and benifits. five day work week six if you left out on sunday to deliver monday. let me say this the office guys in joliet illinois mess with you at first. example on a run back from iowa i had to pick up a backhaul 10 miles from the DC i spent five hours in the doc and got paid 30 dollars for the pick up and 20 miles for the distance that is if you do it hourly its 7.44 an hr. when i got back to the Dc and questioned my boss he said and i qoute"YOU Got ALL THE MILESCOMING BACK FROM IOWA". I said are you serious i get those miles anyway because i had to pass the DC to get to the pick up so dont be a used car salesman to me. this is a test from them one of many. To be continued..
us xpress dollar tree dedicated good and now bad, joliet illinios

I have been saying for 6 years on this forum to stay away from USX if you are a solo driver.

Well since you posted this thread twice, this is copied from what I posted in your other thread.
Competition from others that will do it cheaper.
SNI does a lot of DT and a couple others do as well but don't pay near enough and work drivers to death.
I'd imagine it's DT behind what's happened to you, I did the job for 8 months 6 days a week with 14 hrs being a short day, never took home what you were in a week. -
I have a friend on this account out of the same DC and he is grossing 1k a week without fail. I'm not sure what happened with you. Maybe you were too slow?

I am a new driver and have been with us xpress for about 6 months. The dollar tree account seems to be a great account. It is hard work for sure. The money is great though. I have talked to several guys who have been with the company a long time and they say this is the best money you are going to make anywhere. Especially with me being a new driver.
