probably 52 of those pages are filled with drivers complaining how you'll get screwed, but it turns out it was actually the drivers fault.

Perhaps you're not capable of recognizing when you are being screwed? Because regardless of whom you drive for....if you are a driver in this industry...you have been and/or are being screwed in one form or another.

Example: If you are being paid any other way than "hub mile", you are being screwed. If you are in a dock getting loaded/unloaded without hourly pay from the second you chock those tires, you are being screwed. If you have to wait one minute without pay before being dispatched on your next load, you are being screwed.

Get my point? How many other jobs, in how many other industries are people willing to work part of their day for free? Think about it!

Sure.....there are a lot of whiners on these boards....but there sure are a lot of naïve cheerleaders here too.

Most of the whiners have Never been an Employer. Do you think Employees don't screw Employers? I have been both and can attest that it is equally as difficult to find a good one of either. So all the whiners, buckup and go owner-op. No boss and no employees. Surely no one will screw you then, right? Except for: shippers, Consignees, insurance companies, mechanics, every regulatory entity known to man, ect........

    Lonesome Thanks this.

It's easy to write/post frustrated, keyboard covert, negatives.............Rewarding and positive experiences unfortunately have little reason...........to report.

Over 32 years as a former (retired well) Postal mechanic, vehicle transport "Hot-shot" driver, mail processing dispatch supervisor, and a disabled Vietnam era veteran, I have dealt with every "attitude" imaginable (management+union).
Being a "Non-profit" federal agency, the Post Office cannot dismiss non-producing vested employees (Management OR union) and will happily let a "mule" blindly and ignorantly run itself till it drops while slackers watch (management AND union).

That being said, I hope my Postal and military experience will support my new ventures in this "for-profit" industry (company and/or......... driver/contractor) .
Fortunately I have my Postal and military pensions to allow me to "cherry pick" and walk away when it's due.

It's gott'a be tough when ya have debt, mouths to feed, and NOT have the time+luxury to do.......... due diligence.

Time and experience can be a two-sided sword.
keep your rig "Tween-da-ditches and painted side UP", your gun powder dry, pass the bullets, and the bible .................Hang in there.
