My husband has been with them for almost a year now. He leased a truck thinking it was gonna be "better" for us in the end. So far the only "good" thing is that he just *happened* to come home for my birthday, on one of his 17, yes 17, days that he's collectively gotten to come home since he left in Feb.(it's now Oct. for ppl that don't know the date) & I was hit by a car the next day. His DM shockingly said "take all the time you need", but we can't do that cause he generally makes -$100 or more a week even with 9,000 miles. WTH!? He tried to get me to go with him to CR Hell, but I don't think so. They keep taking money out for a "Truck Investment Fund." $800 a week yet they say they don't have it and it's not in a fund anymore. So you just make a box on his paycheck, take the money and do what, go on a shopping spree for you and your wives and children? We've yet to figure out where the money is. Does anyone know, cause it's not going towards buying that POS. He spent 6 weeks with a negative paycheck cause they couldn't find him a student. Really? I seriously doubt that. He's a Phase II trainer, and with all the schools they have, there has to be SOMEONE waiting to phase up. This company with take your sanity and if you're not careful(& by careful I mean really, really truly in love and devoted to someone & willing to put with tons of BS and be on the verge of losing your home and car and starve every month) it will ruin your marriage. We've been married less than 2 years and I go MONTHS without seeing him. It's ridiculous. And when I do it's for at the MOST 36 hours. 36!? So I get to cook him a meal and watch him sleep cause he has to stay up so much with students that he's exhausted when he gets home and doesn't have to do anything. I'm counting down the days he can quit and switch companies. They tell you when you sign your 9 month "demo" lease that you can get out of it anytime. Think again. They told him at first when he tried to quit they'd sue him. Then they told him he just couldn't do, wasn't allowed. What is he 5 going after the cookie jar? The whole point of a demo is to see if you like it, not trap someone into driving your trucks and then NEVER telling him about the recalls on it until the heads get warped because anti-freeze leaked into the engine cause a bunch of #### went bad. And the rooms were never free any one the times the trucks been in the shop and they still don't pay you to sit nor do they attempt to help you eat. There's a macro on the coil-com for Mis. advance. Don't try to get it. You'll just waste oxygen arguing with payroll about it and you'll never get it. Even though all the instructors say you can use it when you're not getting fuel. Apparently that's just one more miscommunication to add to the list between school and headquarters. He comes from a long line of truck drivers and my brother in law was a driver before joining the Army and I've NEVER heard of a company being this bad. I know Swift is pretty awful from what I've heard, but I still think CR Hell takes the cake. Find a way to get a grant and go to a local place to get your CDL or at least a smaller local company that can't afford to have it's reputation destroyed and actually cares about the people and their families that work for them. Good luck to anyone that goes with CRE, I pray for you, your sanity and your blood sugar. :biggrin_2556:

Your husband has some exp so why don't he look elsewhere?Under his and your current situation,he can't be any worse off now if he was to quit then he already is.He needs to get away from starter companies because they will not get any better.I don't buy that lie either that England can't find him a student.Companies are the worst liers to drivers and think drivers actually believe them.Did you and him even do any research at all on this company from other drivers?.I would suggest your husband getting routed to a terminal and you meet him there and quit England. Your husband is on a 9 month contract,How much longer does he have and what did England say to him to talk him into leasing?Any company that stresses leasing, you should stay clear of them.I would not lease with any company until driving for them awhile to get to know the company and them getting to know me..Tell your husband to ask other drivers what woulkd happen if you walk away from a lease contract.England could be bluffing.Considering how bad the company is they probably have had thousands walk awy under a contract.Look how many quit after the schooling is completed.

He only has 3 months left on the demo lease. I told him it was a bad idea but he didn't listen. I'm not sure what shiny words they used to fully bribe him. He knew I was pissed that he didn't take a dedicated, but swore to me "It would all be okay". We did research A LOT of companies before hand. CRE was the only one at the time taking students that would pay for him to get there. & I thought we were broke then... He's been talking to other companies about them getting him from a CRE location to a new companies HQ for the 3 day orientation. I'm pretty sure they are bluffing considering they have a multi-million dollar lawsuit they are working out from a few thousand other drivers. If I would have known about this site before he started and read all the other horror stories I would have begged him to just wait a month or two more. We were hoping he could get a local job, but they all want at least a years exp. so we were trying to hold out for just a few more months but I don't think we can do it. He went just shy of 10,000 miles last week and his check was -103.90 I don't get it. I just don't.

First of all..... welcome to the world of being married to an over-the-road truck driver.

Secondly..... I discontinued my three-year lease with C.R. England after eight months. So, it is possible.

Finally..... 10,000 miles in one week equates to a minimum of $9000.00 gross revenue. Thus, there is A LOT of explaining that either your husband needs to inform you of, OR he needs to do his part to understand his business, his accounting and his expenses.

There are too many that shrug their shoulders and say, "I don't know." But, if he doesn't know, or you don't know...... there's A LOT of wrong going on!

Investigate. Question. Review. Consider. Then..... ACT!

It's impossible to drive 10,000 miles in a week. Not even a team could do that. Maybe you mean in a month. Anyways I would ditch CRE today. What's the other option, driving for free for the next three months?

But, it isn't impossible to have 10,000 miles on a settlement.

Oh my god, I am so sorry.
That's England, and that's lease purchase.
    Good luck.

Him and his team-mate/student did 7500 in a week, the other miles were from another two trips that weren't put on the check before. I've seen the paycheck stub so I know he's not keeping anything from me. Hell, I called him and woke him up to ask him how the F that happened. He's just as confused and angry. Although next week when rents due he'll still have a bed to sleep in and I'll be putting all our crap in a storage unit waiting to go live on the truck with him I suppose. They did this last week too (& many many others) and then magically found $1,000 they were suppose to pay him. Being a truckers wife in itself isn't that bad. When we lived in MS he worked at a bar. He was the kitchen manager and after a lil bit the only cook so he was gone all the time anyway, so that I'm use to. But at least he had a freakin pay check to make up for never being around. Him and his student have been talking about going to US Xpress and doing a team. He just happens to be from the same area as us so it was kinda perfect. I haven't heard or read anything bad about them so far and I've searched a lot. If he can make to IN by Tuesday they will get them to IL for orientation and hopefully this nightmare will be over.
