Curious if anybody has heard of Nussbaum out of Illinois. Just trying to find some basic info like equipment, hometime, work environment, etc. I've been talking with Josh and Tianne in recruiting and am currently committed to going there the 10th of November for Orientation just trying to find out from the drivers themselves. As much detail as possible would be great. Thanks.

New trucks, new trailers, and new terminal from what I have seen. Means they got money....but are they sharing it with the drivers, is what I'd be looking to find out.

Called them about 5 or 7 years ago to see if I wanted to drive for them. First thing they asked right off the bat was "where do you live", told them, and they said they don't hire north of I-80.....so I didn't ask any more questions.

I see the trucks north of I-80, but not enough, so they were worried about home time. So I thank them for being honest.

Yeah they do have an $800 week gurantee and pay on a sliding pay scale where you make .38/ mile on the low end and I think .43 on the high end so it shouldn't be to bad. Ill keep you guys updated if interested.

I think I've talked to them before. They don't hire teams.

They pay .38-.48 based on length of haul, 800$ weekly pay guarantee, paid holidays, home almost every weekend(sometimes it's 12 hours, sometimes it's 50+, all depends on your load). You'll probably start out in a volvo, or a leased truck(we're short trucks right now), but soon enough you'll move into a Freightliner Cascadia high top. All Nussbaum trucks(non leased) are automatics, with battery APUs, and refrigerators. You can bring your own inverter, and pay them to install it. I've been with them a year now, and have no real complaints. They don't lie to me, and they aren't too demanding. I run at 59 mph to push my fuel mileage up for a quarterly bonus of 1200-1500. Doing this, I'm still bringing home net 850-900 a week, YMMV. I've heard a lot of complaints from ex employees when they dropped the unions, and getting fired for not C.Y.A...(late deliveries without warning dispatch, equipment damage due to not being careful, etc.). But honestly, I can't really see these complaints being worth much, so oh well.

Lastly, this post is probably in the wrong forum.....

Edit: Also, some of our loads are driver assist unload. Tires, cabinets, windows/doors, and garage doors. There is unloading pay.

Where you you primarily run? Where do you park the truck when you're home in Chicago?

Sorry, I'm actually temporarily down in the Springfield IL area while my girlfriend goes to school, but we do have drivers up in Chicagoland. I assume they park at one of our drop lots down by Joliet, but I can't be sure(if you call and ask, they're straight shooters, so you'll get an honest answer pretty quickly). There really isn't much consistency to where I run, I get a good chunk of loads to Texas, a bunch going to Grand Island, some up to twin cities, it all depends really. We don't have that many dedicated routes, and you'll normally have a week of a big run out, and a run back, and then short loads that stay in the midwest, sometimes in the opposite order. We just run where ever our core group of customers want us to run. Expect most of the backhauls to be brokered freight.
