I worked for them for 4 months and got in a non preventable accident. When i went to clean out my truck because of injuries, i recieved a speeding ticket in Waldo,Fl in my car. The officer cited me for 16 over so i turned ticket into safety and advised then i was gonna go to court as i feel i wasnt going that fast. I hired a lawyer and won in court and advised Davis that the ticket was dismissed and was given a date to come back to work. When i arrived that day, i was told to see Chad in safety at which time he told me i was being terminated for the ticket. I informed him the ticket was dismissed and he stated it didnt matter, they had a copy of the ticket and knew i had recieved it so they were terminating my employment. Me and my lawyer feel it was fallout from the accident which was an impared driver that caused the accident but there was no proof that they were firing me for that. I have heard from several drivers that little incidents will get you fired and they do anything they can to make sure you cant find another job. I have had alot of problems finding jobs but usually i find a company that was willing to give me a chance and it always worked out good.Recently I had a heart attack and have been off work for two months and looking to go back to work but having more issues with my refernces from davis that i violated company police by getting a major speeding ticket. Its not a good company and I have worked for some companies that I have has issues with but have been great companies. Best bet is to look else where if you want a company that will treat you good. Must say that mr. Davis, the owner was very nice and I have alot of respect for him but as long as Chad is in safety, Im glad im not there.
Davis express, starke,fl... not good to work for unless your perfect

I am sorry oyu had a bad experiance, but Davis Express is a very goodcompany to work for. I have worked for them for over 10 years, and have
no complaints. -
did you ever stop and think that 16 mph over the speed limit is a bad thing and maybe it was the insurance told them they would not cover you yes i understand it go drop but they still look as driving to fast
-
FYI you shouldn't speed anywhere, but everyone knows not to speed through waldo. It's a speed trap for a reason.

But of course its someone elses fault. A trucker is never to blame for the stupid #### they do.

Talked to Davis a while a back...lady stated most of their driving is done at night and into the early morning hours and drivers had to sleep during the day.
That in itself is an accident waiting to happen, its unnatural.
So maybe they see that error you made and really over react.
They'll have a 'big one' soon...just keep your ears peeled. -
Does anyone have any experience with the driver training program (whether it be as a trainer or trainee or knows of someone)? I really want to apply here but cannot sleep near well enough while team driving for 4 weeks (every single "bump" wakes me up). I completed a 6-week training course with Swift about 6 years ago and it almost killed me. Have 26 months total driving experience but only 2 months OTR and would need to take this program. Thanks in advance for any assistance in this area!

What would you like to know about the program? As far as I know You will be the driver, and the trainer only trains you (no driving). If you have any question you can call 800-874-4270 Option 2, or reply back I will try to answer your questions.

Nighttime is when most of their road moves run.
City picks up during the day, freight gets separated and loaded, then road drivers move it to destination terminals or break terminals at night.
