Dont go near Giltner, Jerome ID., unless you want to ruin your DAC forever and for no reason other than leaving the company. When you leave Giltner, they have no use for you anymore and knows you would never be stupid enough to go back with them. They're "freight" has turned into 4-5 stop LTL loads, for which you are not paid anything near what LTL drivers (Yellow) union, hourly drivers make for the same stops.

    mreasy and giltner Thank this.

DAC entries can be easily disputed. If there is no validity to the claims made by the company in question, DAC will remove it and you'll suddenly find yourself with the option to sue. Most major carriers aren't going to risk being found libelous simply because they don't like you. Besides, you're just a number and the personal opinion of one fleet manager or one HR rep isn't going to hold any weight. If your DAC was marked with something negative, or you have negative remarks on your DriverFacts, chances are you deserved it...

Of course you are not going to make union or hourly wages. You chose to work for a junk OTR company. What did you expect?

I worked for Giltner for a very short time a few years ago. I have to admit I was worried that they would hammer my DAC but they did not and they have never said anything bad when contacted for employment verification.

Yeah, Giltner ruined my DAC too after I complained to the State when they ripped me off of $1945.00 when I quit. Most Sysco loads through Giltner are drop and hook, leaving the unsigned paperwork with the loaded trailer when you drop. So there is no proof of delivery, other than the Qualcom, which proves nothing. They just skipped paying me a couple of runs I did for them. They also short the mileage they pay you (hopefully) big time, using mileage you could only do using cattle trails. On the plus side, they do run relatively new trucks. But since giltner leases them, turning them back in after the warranty period, they wont fix anything on the trucks, unless they breakdown completly.

    giltner Thanks this.

And as far as "one post wonder" what difference would having 895 posts make? When people have a bad experience with a trucking company, that complaint might be the first reason to come here and complain. For instance, having my own small trucking company now, I have little need to come here and check other companies. I spend my time driving & running a small company, not posting. And on my off time, Im relaxing with the family, not posting hundreds of posts.
