If anyone is thinking about going with Westside I have one word DONT they will screw you over big. My husband went with Westside and has had nothing but trouble with them. One week he would get 2500 miles the next 1000. nothing consistent. He would get something with good miles and then get message to do relay because someone had to get home or something and tell him to hurry to get relay point only to find out driver is still 8 or more hrs away. My husband is a good driver and thought he would try this co. because it was small what a mistake the loads they give some are good but most are in places big trucks should not be like 3 levels below city of Chicago did it but not easy and when he called to tell them he was leaving co. well their attuide change completely telling him he cant bring truck back unless under load will be charged 1.00 mile if does and then has to sit and wait a day and half before they give him a load to terminal and we are still waiting for his last check they say have mailed but its a week later and still dont have and I could go on and on about this co. Just anyone trying to decide if should go to this co. DONT
my husband has never had as much trouble with his other co as did with Westside my husband tried to talk to dm but deaf ears he doesnt refuse loads and gets there on time but did no good they still screwed him over
need better planners and customer service people to name a few things wrong. Just be careful

How long did he work for them? Doesn't seem like it was a very long term relationship.

My husband also worked for Westside for about six months. He incurred the same problems as your husband; although, the company did not tell him that he had to be under a load to return the truck.

Now what's that about? Reserving the right to say you quit under a load?

My husband was not under a load when he quit. I was simply replying to granieapple who had stated " telling him he cant bring truck back unless under load will be charged 1.00 mile if does"

    Oh, DUH!!

You're right. I see that now.

I read it wrong, and suspected them of an obvious case of entrapment.

I worked for Westside Transport for about 9 months. Everything that her husband went thru is exactly what I went thru. My hometime was every 2 weeks, and it was impossible for me to get home any earlier than that. They couldn't even get me back to the terminal on time to turn in the truck. The miles are very inconsistent. At the time, they advertised if you run 2300 miles in a week, then you get paid $.40/mile. But the thing is it was very difficult to get 2300 miles in a week. Westside is a short-haul company. Average length of haul was between 250-500 miles.
On the positive side their trucks are pretty nice, they have alot of new Cascadias and Volvos. You are able to view your paycheck online before it hits the bank and they use TripPak scanners to scan in your Bills so you don't have to worry about getting them to the terminal on time. The shop is also pretty good, the longest I had to wait was about 5 hours for a PM.
