Western Express might be crappy, I lasted one month there because my assigned truck had no engine brake, they almost killed me with a load going through Wolf Creek Pass in southern Colorado. But one good thing I found out about Western Express is that they do NOT participate in DAC services.

You don't need a jake. Okay maybe a job hopper like you does but real drivers don't. It's called proper gear selection and technique.

A Jake brake is nice to use when you wanna save ur service brakes a little, but you shouldnt count on it too much. Use your gears when you want to control ur speed. What do you think drivers did before Jakes? Just hang on and pray? Nope use ur gears. Use ur gears...

I can only assume they knew how to gear down (twin and some triple sticks) and were no strangers to changing their shorts!!!

Let's not take cheap shots now.

Yep. The key is to load the engine. Even turning on the AC if you have it helps a little.
