It was said before not no to jb hunt HELL NO!! I will give up my cdl before i drive for this slave driving company.

You claim to have 1,2,3, million miliers what year was that in? I would be willing to bet that the average new recurit stays for about 2,3 weeks before they start to see the side of jb hunt and what its really like 2 work in hell.

Exclamation

"I won't take a paycut"
"I'm just a newby to OTR (CDL holder and dump experience)and actively seeking an OTR company. After reading that particular post I threw away all info from JBhunt. No doubt the right decision"

Ditto for me, I just tossed JB's propaganda in the burn barrel along with the rest of tonight's slops.

The JB shill sure makes much of JB's "profitability", we drivers should be banging down his door to work for a company that will treat us like crap, leave us sitting with no pay, talk down to us as shillboy has here but hey, we would be working for a "profitable" Co!

I wonder if shillboy's bosses would like to know that he gets his jollys by coming to online forums and rattling exp. drivers AND new driver's cages who might have considered JB Hunt if not for his donkey drivel?

I think someone needs to look at our financials.....we dont post losses, we keep setting record profits
This guy keeps talking about record profits at JB. Most people know that labor is the largest expenditure at most businesses. A company can make "record profits" if they pay their drivers less, and run their drivers with the only objective being increasing those "record profits".

If a company does not care that a driver never sees home, or is not concerned with a driver having a consistent paycheck, then yes, that company can haul shorter run freight which pays more per mile, while still paying a driver the same per mile rate as if this driver were running 2500 or more miles per week.

To increase profits, cuts have to be made somewhere. This is usually in driver compensation and equipment.

Are we ready to change what? Things are working great.
This guy states that JB does not need to change things, that things are great. I guess they are for him. Drivers are working for small amounts of money, while driving cheap trucks. This makes the bottom line bigger.

Many of those drivers quit every day, keeping this guy in a job. The more he hires, the more he makes. This could lend itself to someone being tempted to stretch things a little to get new hires.

Quote:
Of course we are looking for new ways to extend our record profits.
I'm quite sure you are. I worked O/O for a company that leased terminal space to JB Hunt. JB kept trying to get us to pull some of their freight. The boss said the pay they were offering was less than the cost to move the freight. I guess that is one way to make money. Get freight and find suckers to move if for less that their cost. Some people do, we didn't.

Quote:
Also, Im not a truck driver. And quite frankly...I couldnt afford the paycut.
I can tell what he thinks of drivers by the smart little comment about having to take a pay cut. This guy goes home every night, while many of his drivers may not see home for weeks.

If I were him I would be ashamed to think I made more money that the drivers I was hiring to do a job that I would not do myself.

Maybe if some of the money these recruiter are being paid was funneled back to the drivers, and real ex-drivers were dispatchers, then driver turnover would not be nearly as high. But if that happened then Mr. JB recuiter wouldn't have a job, so he doesn't want to see things improve for drivers.

It really ticks me off when go home every night, better that thou suits look down on their drivers.

PERSONAL NOTE:
I am in the process of ending my trucking career. I have been local for some time now, and I am ready to end that. The company I work for has been bought out by people who think drivers are the lowest form of life on earth. We company drivers don't deal directly with the new management, but we still have to put up with their crap.

What gets me is the way they treat the OTR drivers that come to pick up. Many will wait 8-10 hours to get loaded. Some wait till the next day. When it rains the drivers have to walk through red mud to get to dispatch. One of the employees offered to bring gravel out with his own dump truck, and only charge his cost, in order to make a decent path for the drivers to walk on. The owner said no.

No drinks, food, or bathrooms for the drivers. No drivers anywhere in the plant except an 8X6 room, and then just long enough to check in. They finally did put up a porta-john next to the driveway for the drivers to use. It's in the hot sun, and gets well over 100 degrees in there daily.

This is a multi-country, large corporation. The owner is a real butt hole. as are his cronies.

I've had enough. And people like Mr. JB Recruiter don't make me want to stay in this profession.

so you admit that to make money you have to stop driving and become a recruiter

I was wondering the same thing - this thread needs to be highlighted and stuck up front where all the newbie's can see it - so they can see for themselves what a JB hunt "spokeperson" has to say about them. And, JB needs to know what their so called "people" are doing on company time, this joker gets paid to harass on the computer, while my hubby (when he worked for them) DID NOT get paid to actually sit, I say sit cause he wasn't get any miles, for 3 days in Texas! This jerk gets to play on the computer everyday, and then go home to his own bed! What a life!
