ya know i almost went to work for these guys years ago....only problem was i lived in montana, and would hafta to move to alabama or florida....not really sure anymore, but it was down south....im glad i did it my way instead

nothing wrong with humor, even if its taken the wrong way by some, some other smart butt will get it

as to your being better than ever....profits you might have, incoming drivers you probaly do have....but why did your other drivers leave? im guessing money...or lack of it.

in trucking.....company driver or owner op...wether we like to admit it or not....miles= money

another thing is the company pick of trucks....now i understand saving money by buyin a frieghtliner....the problem is is everyone has them...it equates to owning a honda...everyone has one
now every driver doesnt want the same ride as everyone else on the block...they want a nice rig that stands out, or at least holds together and its resale value....not a cheap massed produced buggy

i guess my biggest problem with any of the big outfits is in how they treat the driver's...the guys that actully make the company money...get treated like dirt
now i know that you cannot make everyone happy all of the time and that there will always be at least one complaining....but thousands of ex drivers? hundreds of thousands of ex drivers??
come one....there is something the company could change to retain its experianced drivers, and in the long run that would reduce the need for you...so is it in your intrest to help make the company better in order to retain said drivers, therefore reducing the need for yourself, or is it better for you to keep retelling the same lies and getting butts in the classroom door??????

Ok that was fun...Im glad I got to respond to all of your questions and comments

I still think you all missed the point. This thread wasnt about JB jobs. I was mearly explaining to you in my own special funny way that we are now recruiting for other companies. Companies that dont compete with us. In otherwords, tanker jobs, dump, class b, stuff like that.
Reality those jobs have NOTHING to do with JB. We were hired to find them drivers and do the background check. We do the app, we check the background, then we pass you on to the company and that is the last you will deal with JB. You dont even do our orientation. I wasnt kidding when I said these were really good jobs. The job Ive been recruiting for personally is especially great. When I get a call from one of my ads and I tell them the company, almost everytime I get the response "wow thats a great job, Ive been trying to get on there for years" Then its usually found out that they dont qualify for some reason. I would post the name of the company, but I wouldnt want to seem like I was recruiting you all for it. I know thats against your little rules. I will tell you this. Its a Fortune 300 company one of the nations largest. Its probably the most successful company in its feild. VERY VERY profitable. It has offices in over 30 countries all over the world. It deals with atmospheric and specialty gasses amoung many other things. Now you can have some fun doing the research.

You dont even have to thank me for bringing a little excitment to this board. I gave you something fun to post about in your spare time.
Now, like I said, feel free to block me, Ive had my fun with you all. Anyway, Im going on vacation tomorrow for a couple of weeks and wont be able to sign on here and entertain you.
Yall drive safe and keep up the good work!
BY the way, you will need to block a couple of screen names if you havent noticed. I forgot the password on the one I created earlier and instead of waiting 15 minutes or whatever...I just created a different one.

Ok one more response then Im going to bed.
You are right, not everyone likes the big companies. Personally, I do. Do I have to put up with more crap at a big company working in the corporate office? Of course. No job is perfect. But the benefits working for a big profitable company outweight the negatives. Now, think about this. We retire drivers all the time who have made a career at JB. Because the company is so profitable, the stock has done so well and we have great benefits, some of those drivers are retireing millionaires. There is no way you can convince me that they made the wrong choice with JB. I get the same benefits as drivers, and personally in a few more years if my 401k and JB stock keeps heading in the same direction, they pay from that going into my retirement fund will pass my yearly pay I get from working there. Thats not too bad. You just dont get things like that at small companies.

Now, you mentioned the driver turnover at large companies. Yes, its a fact of this business. Even the companies on this board that drivers seem to like have huge driver turnovers. Drivers on this board seem to like crete for some reason. Cretes and JBs driver turnover rate is pretty close to the same. WHY? I will tell you a big secret to this mystery that doesnt seem to get talked about. MOST OF DRIVER TURNOVER IS NOT DRIVERS QUITING. More than not a driver is terminated for some reason. That NEVER gets mentioned when you talk about driver turnover. I watch my personal turnover pretty closely. And yes as a recruiter, I have over a 100% turnover. When you look at just the raw number of over 100% that looks pretty bad. However when I figure out the reasons for turnover, it just doesnt look as bad to me. This is what I found out when I figured out my turnover rate. About 60% were fired, about 15% quit for personal reasons...sick, family problems, wanted local and I didnt have one in that area. about 5% quit for unknown reasons. I cant ever get ahold of them to find out why....and only about 20% quit because they arent happy with the job. Now here is when human nature kicks in....of those 60% who were fired for some reason...how many of them do you think will admit they were fired? Not too many people will admit to that. What REALLY happens is they come out to message boards and blame the company for doing something wrong instead of admitting their own faults. Think about it. How many people do you see on message boards saying things like, yeah, I screwed up and I got fired"? You hardly ever see it. Do you honestly think they arent out here? Its much easier for a person to pass the blame than accept personal responsibility. That is just human nature and its not exclusive to truck driving. It happens in all jobs.

I will give you a personal example of this. I recently hired a young lady driver about 2 months ago for OTR. Her first week got written up for cussing out her fleet manager. Called me and complained. Her second week she was late for 3 loads and got warned. her 3 week she got "bad miles" and quit. She called me back. She convinced me she was a great driver and everyone else was screwed up. I pulled some strings for her and got her back on a absolutely great dedicated run. One of the best jobs I have. Surely she would be happy here. Her first week she got caught cheating her logs. Safety made her go immediately to a terminal for "training" ...probably should have fired her, but they gave her another chance. She spent two days at the terminal and then got a pretty short run...she got pissed and quit. I now know she is on another one of these driver message boards venting about how JB hunt sucks. REALITY: 100% her fault she failed. In fact I got a call from the fleet manager after she quit and he said "for God sake dont ever hire her back, the lady has severe mental problems" Now, do I head out to that message board and dispute her claims? Naaaa, I just let her vent. Its kind of funny to watch. The point is that if by chance, she came out to this board, you all would agree with her and take everything she said as fact. (you know, I might tell her about this site, you all would like her) There are always two sides to every story when someone fails at a job.

Keep in mind folks its easy to tell when a recruiter is lying. Same as a lawyer and a politician....... When their mouth is moving.

True, he is not going to be serious so I went ahead and banned him and his other name. Admin & Mods, please do NOT delete this thread and KEEP it stickied so some poor sucker thinking of JB Hunt can come in here and see what morons they truly are there. This is what JB Hunt thinks of truck drivers! That they are a "joke". IF you go to JB Hunt, you deserve what you get and I will say no more in this thread and let it speak for itself... JB Hunt will never change, only go under (hopefully).
