Well, it has been a long time since I've read this board.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx is already up.......I know, I own it. Basicly, it's just my story with JB.....but now it just sits there. And I'm pretty much done with it.

Anyone have any new ideals are welcome to contact me.... I would like to get this site to work for drivers somehow......

Sometime this week I'll head over and check out your site. Hopefully, it'll be more than just a bunch of guys bashing JobHunt. It's good some outfits get their due, absolutely, but balance is good. Sounds like you're trying to go that way.

Have to almost agree with everyone here about JB.... this is my 3rd time with them and things were pretty good the 1st couple months.... good miles, home on short notice +/or when I needed, a dispatcher who actually seemed like they cared.... or so I thought! But what can I say... this is probably his first "real" job at a whole whopping 23 yrs old! Now I spend most weekends sitting waiting for a ld... and then when I do get one; it's either a "puddle hopper" or I get swapped off it.... Hell, I spent 3 days doing nuhin but shuttling "bad" trailers to repair shops and they weren't going to pay me anything at all because "it was a trailer you were going to use for your next load". I think NOT !! I pitched a fit that I'm eating up my 70 hr clock for nothin' and doing them a favor.... I ended up getting pd $10 for each trailer [includes the 2.5-4 hr wait till it's done]... WOO HOO!! I can afford the steak and lobster w/ champagne now! The only time things are on an upswing now is when I threaten to quit.... pretty sad when I've been told I'm the safest, most on time driver he has and yet I'm lucky to turn out 1800 miles a week. And guess what I'm doing right now???? sitting under a load for 18hrs to deliver because there's absolutely NO ONE in the area that it can be split off to so I can run. and of course, there's no detention pay because it's not going to be over 24 hrs AGAIN !!!! last weekend; I sat for 23 hrs waiting for a load; and because it wasn't 24 hours I won't get paid layover for that either.... they broke up not only the 24 hr window, but a 34 hr reset in the process to take a ld 78 miles away, where I sat overnight waiting to be unloaded. That's their game.... their SCAM to not have to pay us what we work for. I made the statement to them ... "You get paid for when you work, regardless of what day it is don't you?" their answer "yes", so I said "what makes it any difference that we're out here; away from the comforts of home; busting our butts trying to make enough to survive on; that we shouldn't get paid for the work or wait?" Never did get an answer from the several people I asked.... and I climbed up the chain with that one.:biggrin_25513:

    Here's another JB brilliant move....

I'm in the process of reconcilling with my former domestic partner (or rather checking it out to see if it's what is best for me) so we thought .... Hey, it's the off season for them at their job; so why not ride along with me for a few weeks or whatever.... [also was a way to see if they wanted to return to driving again]. sooooo....... notified the fm a week in advance what we wanted to do and everything was cool, routed me thru the city to pick them up, and after 20 pages of papers to sign and them to authorize a rider [now mind you, everything was cool and already had them packed on the truck with their supplies, extra food, etc] I fax back those 20 pages [see the $$ feeding into this?]..... we wait for nearly an hour if not longer only to call them back to see what's taking so long since I was under a load and then get told that my partner CANT get on the truck because they have a cdl !! we even said that we would go to the dmv and get a regular license but was told that "it's too late, we already know they've had/have a cdl" .... needless to say, I say the rest of the day fighting with them and telling them to route me home to pack out the truck (being told I was crazy to quit over this) and that I had to deliver but would be routed back to my partner for the night..... just because some dumb ### driver couldn't get their head out of their butt and I guess let their "passenger" drive the truck { DUH DEE DUH DEE !!} everyone now has to pay for their stupidity.... instead of just firing the ### who did it, fining them, or whatever.... needless to say..... my partner has no desire to deal with the trucking industry bs now.

I just recived a reply from a former JB Hnt employee who had a triple bypass heart opperation and while in the hospital he was fired becuase his postion had to be filled. He lost his insurance after 30 days and went into bankruptcy.
His position did'nt need to be filled he was becomming a risk and large expence to your insurance. Being self insured he became a profit risk.
Men, women and even children lose their very lives each year because of this pratice and it's no different than MURDER.
This is wahy I belive that Drivers belong under the Department of Labor and not the Department of Transportation. Now we don't have the same federal protection as hourly employees.
But who wants to give up their high paying, soft seated job at the DOT at the taxpayers expence? Can you even think of what would happen it we had the same rights as an hourly employe?

Major operations like bypass surgery don't HAVE to bankrupt you. I know you've already been burned, JoeMac, and I feel for you. However, to everyone else (including myself), I say you would be better off getting on a plane and flying to a place like Thailand for such an operation. What does this kind of surgery cost in the US? 100K? 200K? I don't know. But I DO know open heart surgery runs around 12K at Bumrungrad Hospital in Bangkok. There is an insurance company in South Carolina (BCBS ?) that offers this option. In other words, it will cover this procedure at Bumrungrad.

Check into it before you lose everything you own. I know a lot of you don't own anything but a gob of debt, but some of you surely have something to lose if some slimebucket employer like JobHunt cuts you lose and you lose your insurance just as you need it the most.

India is also an option. And the average Indian doctor is just as good as the average Dr. Joe you'll find in the US.

If you can hold out just long enough for the plane ride, you can do better than losing your ###.

Now, I've heard of guys going to other countries on our insurance before...At first I thought it was strange, but now that you mention it, if a driver goes to a big specific Hospital (you know, like hospitals that are good at bypass, places like Chicago, NYC, Philadelphia, and Detroit have specifics for Back pain, leg, arm, etc.) Believe it or not, but my extended family's been using the University of Iowa's hospital system alot...Helps they live near Iowa City too.

I could see where Insurance agencies might get off easier by sending a driver/dependent off to a foreign country to get work done.
