JB hunt, schneider National, Swift, Stevens Transport, among many others are paid by the government to train, hire and fire drivers. It behooves a company to fire drivers, because the government will pay them big money to recruit and train a new batch. They are all a bunch of jerks! And the worst part is, they have a loving relationship with that wicked DAC. One mishap, and you are on your way to being a former driver. Pay is around $4.00 per hour, at least that is what the big orange is paying. Driving is good, working for a mega company like JB Hunt or Schneider is not a good investment of time nor energy. Take it from me, I've been screwed everyway but sunday by Schneider and by DAC. For one preventable that could have been prevented had they trained me for the situation. I HATE them all. Bunch of ####### liars. then again, I was a naive dweeb to fall for their sales pitch. They just threw the ball, I didn't have to swing.

i hang up on jb hunt? in 1984 i had 18 yrs. otr safe driving, i am 3rd generation professional driver, worked for the last employer at that time, interstate motor freight system, 8th largest carrier in u.s.a. and canada for 15 yrs., was #1 miler east of the mississippi many times. myself and many other professional drivers with even more yrs. safe driving than myself lost our jobs when interstate closed. bill edwards had 32 yrs safe driving. companies such as jb hunt and schneider national told us we were OVER QUALIFIED! now after they have exploited the ignorance of the workforce that was unaware of the work demanded within the title of truck driver, they now beg us for a "few minutes of your time". well if i was "OVER QUALIFIED" 26 yrs ago (still accident free btw) what does that make me now! oh btw i became an o/o at landstar for 23 yrs. became contractor of the year/ roadstar, and earned every safety, production, compliance, customer service award at landstar, and further more went on to chosen among the top 24 finalists for the america's road team. also featured in magazines for my the many progressive ideas i brought to the table for landstar and the industry. however, the award i value the most was created especially for me by the senior executives, "for always holding us to a higher standard" why would i not hang up on a bottom feeder like jb hunt! they got exactly the kind of drivers they wanted. just temporary job hoppers!

Ok, what kind of preventable was Schneider's fault? I've talked with more than a fair share of satisfied Schneider drivers, and had a trainer that was with Schneider before coming to Roehl--only because of a problem with his new dispatcher.

so did you quit james H. clark and son because of a run in with a trainer,? or was it your attitude towards there employees there that got you fired ? so my ? is did you quit or where you fired? -

Hey Mike, is that you!
See you the 27th. -
Does anyone out there drive for JB on their Southwest 6 run? If so, how is it?
-
What happens to the drivers who got the training, seemingly free, but were forced to quit via treatment or who got fired. The they r on the hook for about $4,500.00 the way I read about it, that's the price tag for Swift anyway.
Wow, this is the info I've been waiting to hear about. I thought something was fishey. Somebody needs to contact their congressman, not that he would do anything but to make this all a matter of record and go from there, maybe a law suit.
Is there something in writing that says the government is paying these guys? I would like to write my rep's about this ripoff; which sounds like another corprate / government conspriacy. When I worked as a union carpenter, carpenters would be dispatched to a job, we would work for awhile, say 3 mos., and be sent back to the hall. We would collect unempolyment. And another guy would be sent out to work for 3 mos, then he would be sent back to the hall, and so it went. Then everybody would make some money and keep up their unempolyment. I'm woundering if something like this is going on here? Do you see something like this going on with these trucking schools
What would u do if u had it to do over?
Thanks for putting it in writing. -
well you cell phone recruiters are trained to pump sunshine to get your commission once they have arrived for orientation, but you have never worked for these companies and you really dont know what your talking about, I do after 23 yrs of your crap.
