I hate J.B.Hunt but i can say 1 thing about the way recruit, When I went there we had 35 driver's in the class ,In three day's we only had 8 driver's left that qualified they have the highest driver's Qualification Standards. But they have the lowest Respect Standards for the drivers they know you work history before they even call you but they still have you come to the orientationknowing you notqualified you go through all the crap then your told you didqualify then send you home thats where they are screwed up But J.B. hunt is good at that (HEY I FOUND SOMETHING THEY ARE GOOD AT) Well I Never.:biggrin_25512::biggrin_25526:

So I would have qualified for it before I started driving a truck, but once I got bad directions to a shipper that sent me down a street with a "No Trucks 3 Axles Or More" sign cleverly hidden behind a big shrub and a tree with a "Vote for Me" sign nailed to it, I got disqualified for 3 years...dag nab it.

Don't believe that if J.B. had a driver come in and was that qualified they would not give that driver to another company the would keep hem at J B I know a recruiter at J B and they are looking for them selves I asked him the other day if they were doing that and he said he has never heard anything like that.

It wouldnt work that way for the outside jobs I was recruiting for like Praxair. In fact for those jobs you wouldnt even go to JB hunt orientation. We JB recruiters were only hired to recruit for praxair. Once we found them, qualified them and passed them to Praxair, we were done with them. We would do the first background check, but after that praxair would do the other background check and send them to their own orientation.
If you say you know a recruiter at JB who doesnt know about some of the other companies JB hunt recruits for, I would think he might be an idiot.
Again, I dont work for JB anymore. Also, I dont even work in recruiting anymore or the transportation industry for that matter. I have no reason to make up anything. But sorry dude...you are just flat out WRONG.
For you to think that a company would hire JBs recruiting dept and PAY THEM to find them drivers for that other, then say JB wouldnt find them drivers is just silly. Personally, when I was there, I worked very hard in filling Praxairs trucks, mainly because the commissions for those jobs were a lot higher than the commissions for JBs jobs.

So when you were with J.B. were you a Recruiter or an Investigator because the drivers out there that never went to J.B. don’t know what I talking about. Because if you were an Investigator, Then that was a different company that’s what my Recruiter told me and it freaked out a lot of drivers because they didn’t expect it when they got to orientation. That’s one thing I said that J.B. has the best recruiting around, it’s the rest that stinks about J.B.

I was a recruiter, but yes, JB has investigators in the recruiting dept too.
    basically it went like this:
Step 1: You talked to a recruiter like me. I was supposed to "pre-qualify" the driver by asking him all sorts of questions. We didnt do any sort of investigating. If a driver says hes "qualified" we simply believe him and pass him on.
Step 2: The driver goes to the scheduler. Who is again supposed to ask all the annoying questions the recruiter asked to pre-qualify again. The scheduler has a lot more information in front of him about the driver and its a little easier for them to see if the driver is lying about somethings in his qualifications. But if the driver gets past the scheduler, he or she is given an orientation date. This by all means does not mean that are even close to being hired.
Step 3: It goes to the investigations dept. They will run all their information which may or may not be before they show up to orientation. From what I understand from being there so long, it cost a lot of money to run all DAC, MVR and Criminal. Someone higher up figured out long ago that it actually saves money to run a lot of the stuff after someone shows up to orientation. Mainly because about 75% of the people you schedule for orientation dont show up anyway. Yes, that policy sucks for some drivers and a lot of drivers get sent home from orientation. But, I can tell you from experience that the vast majority of people who get sent home from orientation knew about what was on their DAC, Criminal or MVR before orientation...they just lied about it.
Recruiters do not get paid for setting someone up for orientation. They dont get paid for getting someone to orientation. They only get paid when that driver leaves the parking lot driving a truck.
Also, it actually hurts recruiters (although many havent figured this out) to just keep throwing a lot of unqualified drivers to scheduling and investigations. This will only make the schedulers and investigators mad at you and you will find that will hurt the recruiters hiring numbers. And really the schedulars and investigators dont like the recruiters that much anyway because the schedulers and investigators do all the leg work and the recruiters make about 4 times the pay.

Yes, absolutely I recruited for JB and the other companies at the same time if thats what you are asking. Now, if a driver wouldnt qualify for the Praxair job would I push JB on them? Sometimes, but it usually didnt work out that way. Most of those praxair jobs were in areas where we didnt have JB jobs. And even if we did, they were different type jobs than the JB jobs. Praxair was a tanker job. Also Praxair paid 70-85K a year and was a local job. I was a great recruiter and salesman, but pitching an 80K a year local job then down selling someone into a 45K a year OTR job was probably beyond my sales ability...lol. Doesnt mean i didnt try on occassion..lol

Actually the other companies JB recruiters were outsourced out to would have been recruited for by their standards...not JB.

Good to see you back MasterRecruiter

And yes, when I left, we were calling for Praxair, it was Regional tank or local tank and bottles, depending on what Praxair wanted/needed. That, and JB doesn't have a lot of jobs in the Mountainous West/CR England territories where these facilities are at.

We also did Schwan's for a while and some other companies too.

Often, we were told, Try to get them onto JB First, then go for the Secondaries.

BTW, I received in another forum on here a nice message. Someone thinks that MR and I are the same. Ask WiseOne or MackE-6 if our IP's match. They don't, Period.

Ran into an old friend of mine on Dickson St in Fayetteville last Saturday Night. He's now working on ICS at JBHT. Apparently a lot of recruiters have gone to ICS.
