Well I use too be all gung ho super trucker doing all sorts of illgel s*&t for them too get their Automotive frieght too the GM plants on time running all night very little sleep lying on my logs for them so I could get an attah boy... granted my choice to do this... Anyways after I was taken of their training program was ask too keep doing favors for them well I said where was you when I needed back up not on of you spoke up for me when I need you... so anytime the wanted help i would just say I am not a trainer anymore and don;t want too pull any illegal loads or lie on my logs for you on the Qualcomm and they would stop asking. Well then they started giving me less and less miles so what my house was paid car was paid so did not have to do many miles too make a good living. Well the final straw was when I requested a dedicated run from Laredo Tx too Janesville Wi that would run me around 2800 miles a week...Wow that just what I need and be home on the weekends great.. Well when I ask they said yes but I would have too drop from 35cpm too 28 cpm SAY WHAT>?? well if you want it you need to take a pay cut I asked why you still get paid the same for that load and besides I am at the top of the seniority list this should get me some perks. No they said if you want too be home weekend you need too take a paycut....I tried too compromise with them said i would take a 5 cent pay cut but they still said no! well I gave it up and went out on the road well came too find out that one dedicated driver was making his 35 cpm when i confronted them with this they said it was none of my business what they paid other drivers well i walked went on vacation took out my 401 k and walked 12 yrs of hard dedicated service for them and didn't get respect!
That's PAM in a nut shell!! They have their favorites(drivers).... and the rest of us would get screwed taking crappy loads to New York City while a Kiss Arse FAvorite would get a great 2100 mile run to California! PAM has their favorites but it's just a small handful... ALSO don't ever read the PAM forums on their website ran by "Chip"... he is also a Kiss ARSE,,, IF you want the truth about PAM or any trucking company, this is the place to go. Nice thread SirDiesel and so true!

I went through C-1 driving school and did my OTR training with PAM. They gave me a truck that was as the mechanic said, "put together in a couple of days" I had engine brake problems, air tanks leaked, and my idle didn't work. Other drivers waiting to get their trucks fixed said they were leaving PAM asap. My understanding is this is common in this industry for the most part.

Maybe that's what PAM means by "driving a fine line" -but as a driver you are the one responsible. As a last resort stop at any scale and ask for a DOT examination of the truck = PAM will fix it then.

Guys need to do this if a company asked them to operate unsafe trucks. Just make sure it is a DOT shutdown offense. Example crack in the rim of the steer wheel.

That plan could backfire real fast on you after you get slapped with a $200 ticket for operating unsafe equipment.

Hello all! I had put in my application to Driver Solutions yesterday hoping I could get my CDL's through USA Truck or P.A.M. - not knowing all of the stuff being said about PAM on here. I have been laid off from my old job since March and I've been wanting to get my foot in the door to driving a truck and I thought this would be a good opportunity. Now I'm not so sure... I've heard good things and bad and I understand that not every week is going to be a 2,500-mile week but I can't take $50-$100 pay checks. Does anybody have any advice or other avenues? Does C.R. England treat their trainees decent? Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated!

After reading many (MANY) negative reviews for Driver Solutions and the companies they recruit for - I believe I am better off going to a nearby technical college and taking the Commercial Truck Driving course. Fortunately, I live in Georgia and can get the Hope Grant to pay for the training. Seems like a much better path to go after reading some posts. Ya'll take care...

That's PAM for ya... My starter went out and Road rescue had to come to start the truck... So I call my driver manager and tell him(he was a complete cocky, arrogant douche) that I need to get the truck to the shop he replies, "just keep it running non stop for a couple of weeks cuz I need you to take these loads"
