    I don't think I know it all....matter of a fact I know I don't all...but I do know from experience a tire just doesn't catch a fire for no reason...

I drove for IRT #1043, ran the I 5 lanes. Yes we waited to unload at some of our stops. They did pay detention time after 12hrs. Very easy company to drive for no micro managing.

I drove for IRT for 8 yrs, fairly decent co to work for. The biggest problem I had was to watch them with the pre loaded trailers of milk. Many times I was over weight and I had to put my foot down eventually and say no more. From then on I insisted on live loading, it was a constant problem with them
but by and large they weren't too bad. They had good benefits and the equipment was always top notch.
I've no idea what it's like now since Miss Maggie passed on and a few others but I got decent miles.
However, you're not going to make all that good money hauling food grade. That's the reality.
You'd be better off hauling chemicals. Also FL is not the best place to be based out of. I eventually moved to Texas where trucking jobs are more plentiful and diverse.
    Good luck.

I seen one of IRT's drivers tailgating a six wheeler next to me earlier today, weaving all over the place, phone glued to his ear, almost sent that same vehicle swerving into me, then he went on to weave between lanes, still glued to the other vehicle's bumper, and tailgating other vehicles as well. Nice to see IRT still hires idiots like that for drivers.

12 hours? I know 99% of OTR companies are junk but I find 12 hours hard to believe. Who works for that kind of compensation?
