i just had enough of this company myself. they hadn't paid rent on our terminal in 2 months. expecting me to drive a junk truck with a massive exhaust leak that was getting into the cab, badly leaking p/s gear box,and a steer getting ready to come apart. no one will give us fuel or fix the trucks because msxn owes them so much money. no parts, tires, fuel,or sometimes even oil at lasalle. how can they not be in jail for this stuff?

I don't know if it would be the correct thing to do or not but I;m sure the DOT would be very interested to know of unsafe equipment on the road!I have heard that even some of there terminals have become unsafe with roofs and walls ready to fall in, which I have seen myself.I think osha would be interested to hear and see that, however remember in this economy how much are you willing to risk???It is my understanding that Mid-States is in a bad way finacailly and it wouldn't take much to push them over the edge??I'm still waiting to receive payment on back medical bills that I have paid out of pocket from 2005 and it is money my wife and I could desperately use right now!!I'm really surprised that someone hasn't tried to involve the media yet and have a reporter do a investagation??? The owners of this company have NO remorse for there actions and simply have destroyed families lives!!! This trucking company in my opinion is running almost like trucking companies did back when Jimmy Hoffa was starting to organize truckers!!!Wow who would believe in this day and age that a trucking company could get away with what they have!!!!! I don't know what the correct answer is and I hope the owners of this company get what they have comming to them for what they have done to so many people lives it is really sad!!!!!!!!!! My prayers are with all of you that work for Mid-States God bless

Terri Hartmann is the owner

In effect, this indicates a non-existent company, as no company may exist without ownership...

I think, if i were you, i'd take any trucking job to get out of there.

I worked for these clowns for 9 years. Just another clown show pulling more #### out of a hat than you want to even see. My experience with this company was also BAD...thank God they had to shut the doors... I couldnt wait to call the local TV and Newspaper to tell them about the class action suit over medical payments these guys were scamming and that they were now closed asa result of the poor business behavior. Sadly, I know a lot of guys that still worked there and are out of a job....

I know that the Federal Marshall put padlocks on the doors and gate in Columbus Ohio and they now have all of the equipment except for one tractor and a couple trailers.

Re Mid States closing their doors

Hi, I am an employee of Mid States here in Milwaukee, and just found out about them closing their doors by reading about it here on this board today. I have been off of work for the past year due to surgery on my shoulder. So when I found out about it, I called the terminal and recieved no answer. I drove to to the terminal to have a look-see and saw that all of their trucks were parked, and the terminal was locked up tight with no vehicles whatsoever in the terminal yard. I tried calling my manager on a cell phone that was used by her for company business, and was greeted by voice mail. So not sure just where things presently stand for me in my current situation. Guess I will have to make some phone calls tomorrow to see how this all falls out. I do not have any money coming to me; just wondering how it works as far as unemployment insurance is concerned, especially since I still am rehabbing my shoulder, with no shot at being able to return to work til around July. Anyone have any advice, please feel free to respond.

You might try calling your manager at her home. Have you talked to anyone else that worked at your terminal? Are you getting any monies from any government agencies at present? You could call the unemployment division in the state that you're in and find out what you need to know. Good luck with everything and hopefully it will all work out for the best.

Just found out Mid States stuck it to us again..Canceled the new insurance 12/31/08 did not inform employees and continued to take our money. NO medical bills after December will be payed..Call your local FBI office. This is the second time they have stolen our money through deceit. By my estimates they have stolen well over $3 million dollars from their employees. They have not paid in over three years any health providers.
