The entrance to the Michigan City terminal is blocked by a trailer and all of those trucks are just sitting there. Looks like some auction bargains somewhere in the future. Sorry you guys got worked over by these people.

great idea about contacting the police. see if the new guy would hold them for you and maybe we can find someone to pick them up. you are talking about the mckinley av location arent you? that wouldnt be a good area for that stuff to be laying around.

Concerning Files

Has anyone tryed to call the trustie at the corperate office and explain this situation and see if he could help in anyway?? These types of things should have been handled by management before closeing the facility!!!! Can not understand how the hell someone could own a company and not know Sh-----t about what they are doing?? These files really need to be pulled and stored in one location!!! I know it sucks but I understand Steve Hartmann had answered the phone at the corperate office try contacting him???????????????

Hey Columbusdriver223

I will send my number to you through the moderator, call me when you get the message. Don't worry I took all the driver files out of the office before I left.

Heart Clean, nothing left Springfield, Mo. Terminal.

Being one of the terminals on the first hit list, we had time to clean out everything. That place is slicker than when we moved in...and from what I can gather, was a Cadillac compared to most terminals. We may be from the land of Hill Billies, but we had toilet paper and running water..ha! We even had electricity. I have to hand it to the man running the place: He started that terminal in his home and we progressed from a two dock, old dairy cooler, to a ten door, nice place. Carpets, security lights, lawn service, new gravel and no pot holes, all our trucks had A/C and extra supplies, new fork lifts and always newer tractors, and why?

Because we had no management working at our terminal 98% of the time. (We had a manager/salesman for about 1 year and he quit.) The man that did all of this never received his dews officially, but He was not afraid of standing up to the ones with the titles...He actually stood his ground...but being just a driver/lead man I guess he could do this?? Ha!!!

Get this, we figured out how to even buy wiper blades and marker lights...haaaaaaaaaa no we did not steal from the company...in fact, we never had one theft..ha!! If anything was missing it was missing before it hit our dock which did happen from the yanks up north...just having fun with you guys...lol

That is pretty incredible as hubby told me some of the terminals the toilets never worked and you had to bring your own TP in with you

The first terminal in Bolivar, before Springfield - they used a gas can for a toilet. When they moved to Springfield - things got so much better for the guys.

Wow.... I've spent the last few hours looking thru some of these posts. My heart goes out to you guys.

I spent 5 years working for Mid-States, a year of which I was in the corporate office in galena. I left over 7 years ago, so it's been awhile, but it's a time in my life I'll never forget. I did have the pleasure of working and interacting with some great, dedicated people. However, looking back, it was truly the worst time of my life and definitely the worst working environment I have ever been in.

Terry and sons have always thought of themselves as elitists, caring for no one but themselves. This would include the shabby treatment of their own relatives, if anyone was there when I was, maybe you remember how they pushed Terry's own brother out of the company.

Their business ethics were non-exsistent. So unfortunatly, I'm not surprised at all to hear that they basically stole money from their employees. They had a long running practice of ripping off their customers when I was there. I know this because I was one of the people that had to deal with it. I'm definitely not proud of the things I had to do while working for them. My only words of advise are... don't believe a word they say.

I wish the best for guys! I hope they get a least a small bit of what they deserve.

File your bankruptcy form....

File the form that was sent to you....and then sew the #%*( out of these upstaning people....This is my advice to all of you...I am looking at approximately $35,000 in unpaid insurance bills...alone. Plus all the years I paid in thinking that was taken care of.....so? May God bless these people by the integrity of their hearts....which is? You guessed it! TRASH will be picked up tomorrow,,,here..how about yours?

I freaked out when I read this...at the time, no one was renting the Rock Island terminal. Now someone is....I went in and talked with them. They had cleaned out all the files and thrown them into an OPEN trailer on a dock that is so broken it is impossible to secure. Everyone's records are in there. The worst part is...when I asked for permission to dig my file out, they gave me free reign, unsupervised, over the files. They never even checked my ID to make sure I was who I said I was before walking out with my file! I hope some of the other Rock Island people read this and get their files out of there! Very, very scary situation.

P.S. for anyone going to find their file there...expect to spend 15 minutes searching. The trailer is a mess!
