Also for whoever complained about not getting an employement verification from your TM in Rock Island....do you think the cell that Mid States gave him works? cause I know him and I cant get ahold of him cause the phone is off.

I do know the TM gave letters of recommendations for those that asked he was there two weeks after the closing. So in my opinion you werent looking for rec.

Yeah, I made the mistake of just asking for a phone number to pass along to prospective employers for a reference. I didn't want to inconvenience anyone with having to put together something more drawn out when everyone was obviously so stressed out with what was happening. In retrospect, that was a mistake. I was never dissing the TM. I loved working for him. I tried to call him three weeks later to see how he was fairing and that's when I discovered the phone number he passed on must have been for the company cell phone he was given. Like I said, my mistake and I'm still unemployed. I hope everyone else is having better luck!

I know it sucks but I understand Steve Hartmann had answered the phone at the corperate office try contacting him???????????????
What management? You mean the Hartless ? From where I sit, had there been any management those files would have been taken care of....proves my point....we was on a ship with no captin.....only dock workers and crew...the owners did not want management to be effective...end of story.

MANAGEMENT.....THE ONES THAT HAVE GOTTEN ON HERE AND BRAGGED ABOUT TAKING CARE OF THEIR PEOPLE....HAAAAAAAAAAAAA Should have taken care of all the personal info before they ran for cover.....MANAGEMENT...just another word for yes men...or give me my pay check and I won't cause a ripple...haaaaaaaaaaa MANAGEMENT....The definition for management at this company is NOT PAID BY THE HOUR....that is all it means....

Broadway give it arrest I think everyone here understands by now how you feel about management and what your definition of management is!!!
However,My opinion I will say that the managers first and foremost should have raised questions and made some effort to contact the Hartmanns and simply ask what should have been done with personnal files etc.... I think as managers they all had a responsiblity to protect there employees. These type of things should have been handled before any manager left there facility period and a little common sence should have been used. Bottom line the Hartmanns knew weeks and maybe several months before they actually closed shop and to say that they made the decision the day they closed is B---S---!!
My opinion is truth and nothing but the truth!! This company went down because the owners of this company have simply mis-managed there business for years!!! For example: If you know that you continuely have a problem with your freight being shipped to the wrong location purposely or otherwise why would you not take proper steps to correct that problem??? For 13 years that I have worked at this company this same problem continued to the last day!!!! WHY????? Everyday emails where sent out asking where is my frieght????? How about equipment ABUSE and I mean ABUSE!! Anyone to denie that equipment abuse didnt happen is only lieing to themself and everyone else PERIOD!!!WHY did this continue??? This is just another example that the owners never took any steps to correct the problem period!!!! Dock doors being ripped from there frames, I could go on and on and on and on!!!
All of these problems could have and should have been addressed and BAD employees should have been made accountable for there actions PERIOD !!!!! Now what do you have because of Mis-management ?? A whole lot of GOOD employees with out work because they made NO effort to correct the issues that should have been addressed PERIOD!!!!
I still truely beleive to this day if issues had been addressed properly and the owners actually stepped up to the plate this company could have been one of the TOP if not the Top Trucking company in the Mid-West!!! Pretty Sad when you think what could have been!!!!!!!!!!!Pretty sad when Honest,Loyalty, dedication, dependable, responsible,r eliable and common sence doesnt mean anything anymore!!!Sad really!!!!

Talking haaaaaaa Arrest is right....

[quote=snodreamn;943030]Broadway give it arrest I think everyone here understands by now how you feel about management and what your definition of management is!!!

I do believe you have Arrest on your mind...Snodreamn...haaaa Which I find funny and fitting considering the curcumstances...lol I also find it funny for you to tell me what I should not do and then you turn around and do the same thing...lol We all know what happened and what should have happened. By the way, we had no files, no torn up doors and the only truck abuse we had was done when our trucks got sent up north...I don't know how many times they were ran over, backed into and came back after months of being serviced to not have been serviced....We even had trucks ran over by line haul from other terminals...haaaaaaaaa You can't hire quality employees when your pay scale is beneath other companies..and when you get a good employee, you loose them due to the poor conditions....sorry for going on for so long. One more thought..the only reason our terminal ran well was due to the fact that we had nobody on salary...No Direct Management...haaaaaaaaaaaaaaa We had a "lead man" and we worked together.

Snodreamn, I will give it A REST,,,HAAAAAAAAA That is so funny....Until I hear someone else defending management or management getting on here acting like they cared...haaaaaaaaaa which they may have...but, as I said MANY TIMES BEFORE, I had MANAGEMENT asking me to call MY WIFE to see if SHE could find out info for THEM....Which I find Ironic and Funny now...No, my wife did not work for mid-states...haaaaaaaaa

By the way,,,DONATE TO TRUCKERS FORUM....it is easy and well deserved. They provide a great service and operate on DONATIONS only.

INDYGUY, Thanks for the info. Usually the hartmann name has 2 n's but it might be spelled that way because user names are filled up. Somebody needs to do a person search, this is too coincedental.......we always suspected of them starting over with there kids or kin. Also, you can create an e-mail addy with any screen name or alias you choose but still it stinks very fishy to me. Also, has anybody had any luck in getting there 401k released? If not, call the Ronald Peterson attorneys office that the Hartford group referred you to and ask why? I know they are flooded with stuff but its been along time and i know they are well enough staffed to handle it. Just get back to me if youve heard anything about that, not if you want to rant about what is coming to your mad head, we know we got screwed, lets not let it keep a full boil, just never let them beat you that way. Hope everybody is hanging in there. Remember, time is on OUR side!!! 3P

Received Insurance payments today....

Hey everyone....Today, 7/8/09 I received from Mid-States two checks for insurance payments for Medical bills dated in January of this year. Can it be the trustee is getting things straitened out? The checks are from American Benefit Administrative Service's, inc. from Mid-States. The charges are from my doctor and lab work she required.

This was a surprise to me....so maybe the insurance premiums we paid after the first of the year are being honored???

Let us know if you receive any payments...ok?
