I think the drivers from Arrow would have to disagree.

 

Wow.. yeah that was a terrible thing that happened to the Arrow drivers.. I had just got my CDL and wanted to give flatbed a try... they were one of the companies my school suggsted.. and I remember when ghat happened.... that is why now I have a credit card and cash just for getting home if ever I need... fly, rent a car, whatever....

 

What a sorry saga that was. Friend of mine got stuck in Oregon on that deal. Getting back to NC was no easy task for him.

 

What did he do with the truck when they shut off the fuel cards?

 

I'm trying to remember, I think the only satisfied driver I ever talked to at swift was an O/O that trained. he was very happy.

all the others, not so much.....

one story a student of mine had as a personal experience was he picked up his truck (in Florida) and drove down state somewhere to pick up on a Friday night. he was left there for the weekend as the shipper didn't have any loads. he quit on Monday and was returning the truck after they cancelled his load. on the way back to the yard his DM called him in a panic told him not to quit and promised him a 'sweet gig'.

the gig? they would pay him .12 cpm to recover abandoned bob tails, but he had to pay his own way to where ever they might be parked. he passed ...
