So true. Giltner is being run out of business by the .25 cents a mile carriers like England. One of the last good accounts they have is Sysco, which used to be drop and hook. Now, you just drop, but since no trailers are available, you just wait around until your trailer is empty the next day. Since the trucks and traillers are leased, they are turning in more and more trailers. Many 3:30 AM deliveries at walmart DC on the weekends, where you just wait 2-3 days for reload. My fuel card stopped working more & more at fuel stops in the fuel island. The only way to leave the fuel island when that happens, is to use a TCH check, which of course is deducted immediately from the drivers pay. On more than one occasion, giltner payroll has claimed they didnt get my original fuel receipt, so we end up being charged for fueling giltners trucks as a company driver when we quit. They dont say anything until you quit, then they with hold your last check and deduct fuel which totals more than your last check. When I demanded payment for their fuel when I quit, they put a negative mark on my DAC report claiming I owed THEM MONEY for thier fuel! Thats very hard to refute with DAC and is making it difficult to get another driving job.

More and more with Giltner, I was showing up at the shipper at my appointment time only to be told my appointment was going to be another days wait. So you end up waiting at the shipper an extra day while you find out your original load is being put on another carrier at your appointment time. Many long wait times up to 3 days with no pay. Zero retention pay. Always had problems with payroll and the mileage they pay you for were usually far less than you could route with your smartphone navigation. Giltner is down sizing trucks and trailers. Before I quit, more and more I saw non-Giltner trucks pulling Giltner trailers loading at the same shipper I was loading at, meaning Giltner is contracting with other small carriers to pull Giltner freight with Giltner trailers, leaving less and less for Giltner drivers. Thats why there is less and less freight and trailers for Giltner drivers. Pay per mile doesnt mean much if you layover 3 days per week and are shorted mileage when you do run.

Nobody's fault but your own.the first indication that a carrier is going down is fuel cards stop working.

You really should've jumped ship a long time before you did.
You kept copies of all your paperwork, right? Including fuel receipts? Please tell me you did...

Sue them if you don't get your money back ,also if they get that slander off your DAC report .....lawyers are free when you have a case ....they wouldn't want to show their face in a court room on a case like this .....they probly just think you won't come after them .....but do it and see how fast they come to the carpet wanting to settle this matter with you .....
Sue em anyway ,maybe they won't try this with the next person
